I love the Fed IV!!
Guys, all the new Feds look great! I have a black Fed IV and love it but don't wear black hats much. I currently have a Moonstone Fed IV on it's way. I've always been a thin ribbon guy but since joining the Lounge I seem to have acquired a taste for wider ribbons. -

I like paint brushes. I find the handle on a paint brush makes it easier for me to brush the brim around the base of the crown. In case you don't know, you want to brush the top side of the hat counter clockwise and the under side of the hat clockwise. -

That sure looks like Akubra's Silverbelly in the photo but photos can be deceiving. Maybe take a shot of it outside. Like Richard mentioned, the Akubra Silverbelly is more of a very light tan than say a traditional Stetson Silverbelly which is a more light silver color. Personally, I like it... -

Nyah, I really think the Fedora is more of what you are looking for than the Fed IV. I have one and I don't think the crown is 5 1/2". I have never measured it but it is definitely shorter than the Fed or Campdraft. The Fed is a dimensional brim too and would be more difficult to trim. The... -

Story, I have quite a few Hawaiian shirts and they can work great but I agree with you on the look. I don't like to wear them when I'm working. 511 Tactical makes a similar style shirt that is not so flashy. It is also a little heavier material and doesn't print as bad as a Hawaiian shirt.
