Well, it's in storage still, I used to dj in it often before I headed to LA. In all seriousness, I would bet dollars to donuts it would be considered too suspicious on the subway during the holiday season. Whaddaworld :rage:
I picked up a garage/trash band from LaGuardia Airport one early morning dressed in it with a big sign saying "Monsters! Welcome to NYC! Follow the ape home!" haha
AND this was post 9/11 AND I didn't get arrested lol
I think the Queen Mary sounds wonderful! And I look forward to affording and working it into my schedule hopefully soon!
Did I miss something, was there talk about one event replacing the other? I didn't mean that in talking about NYC possibilities. :)
I would like to experience a murder mystery evening! I have never been to one! And it would make for a good event that wasn't a live band-based and still alcohol-fueled :) Any suggestions?!
I see what you're saying... there would be ups and downs to spending a weekend on a boat, but that is to be expected from what could be looked back on as being quite a rockin' weekend :p
I agree, I don't think the Cicada Club can be topped! (especially if paired with a tour of downtown LA's historical movie palaces!) I have not been fortunate enough to make it to the QM, but I hope to in the future! I think the idea of a NY get together (or anywhere for that matter) wouldn't...
I'll have to take some pictures, but I have an NRA original armband, a lapel pin, a tagged pink & black tie and a newspaper centerfold poster of Charlie Chaplin reunited with Jackie Coogan 10 years after their film, THE KID (the poster has an NRA logo in the bottom left corner)
MK had gotten some samples from them, I don't remember a final product though... and there was some talk about them doing a Fedora Lounge-inspired action back [huh] here's hopin!
YES! I think I'm taking the weekend of Dec. 12-14th off, I'm all for doing this that sunday afternoon! Anyone else?! Plus it starts in our neighborhood and winds up downtown... how's about making it to Death & Co for an afternoon drink whatever pseudo-speakeasys their supposedly are...
hey ladies!
As quoted from the song, Prove It On Me, written & performed by Ma Rainey in the mid-1920's...
"Went out last night with a crowd of my friends,
They must have been women, 'cause I don't like no men.
It's true I wear a collar and a tie, Make the wind blow all the time
They say...
Heather, that venue looks wonderful! Expensive.... but wonderful! lol
Has anyone actually traveled to the site of the '39 World's Fairgrounds? I know the LIRR goes there I believe.. but I've never had a specific date/time to get me to get up and go there.
If we did that flight...
my post didn't get moved, so I will repeat my somewhat mysterious murmurings...
I'm in the process of getting up and running a monthly event. As far as I know, it's not the kind that has been pulled off before (although I'd figure someone, somewhere has given it a shot.)
It's looking like...
