Very cool! I'd love to know more about the processes they used to clean up the source materials!
Speaking of which, I'm curious about the varying audio quality of different releases. Especially the big (and big bucks) Charley Patton box set by Revenant Records versus the virtually budget...
Not yet! I will, I have just been putting it off since I know they are available [huh] Although... I know a place in that will offer half off a second pair if a person buys one... want to split the difference with me?
From what I heard, Forry passed away peacefully and painlessly. He maintained his personality and sense of humor to the very end. One of his biggest fears was Alzheimers, which he was lucky to have never suffered from. He remained the full of hopes and dreams without a bad bone in his body...
It was through ebay, but the seller was in Brooklyn! Go figure, pretty weird! I've only ever seen artwork for it once, and it wasn't this!
I'm trying to figure out the best way to display it as it's double sided :eusa_doh:
Anyone seen this film, or read the source material book? I have a copy of the film I picked up off of ioffer.com, I am looking forward to the right opportunity to watch it!
click for info on writer, original novel from 1924 and the 1928 film adaption
Directed by William "Wild Bill" Wellman...
I picked this up for 6 bucks... original promotional hand out for the lost silent German film starring Paul Wegener, the Strange Case of Captain Ramper!
Starring the man who earlier portrayed the Golem, this film is one part Tarzan, one part King Kong and completely lost to the ages!
You're getting an action backed (center pleated) jacket from an online company? Do they have pictures on their website of completed suits? I couldn't find the company through a google search :eusa_doh:
Sure, although I don't like reading from a screen so much. I treasure my subway commuting time for reading! I actually like when my commute takes longer because I get to read more!
I agree! I'm hopeful because I want things to look forward to, but I realize it's a 99% lost cause when it comes to studio made films! :eusa_doh:
I just finished a collection of Fitzgerald short stories that were so good! I am not really a fan of the Great Gatsby, but was really affected...
that seller had two other great suits for sale that just ended too. Really early vintage edwardian to teens/twenties-era with very interesting details, especially the fabric... I don't know if I saved it or not, I'll look on my home computer later.
