I was wondering how in the world they survived on 900 a year. Even back then I'd think it couldn't have been a cheap place to live. 75 a month wouldn't last long.
I actually saw the diving horses once. Given that it is considered cruelty in some places to have animals that don't live in the house, I can't imagine the reaction to mule and horse diving.
I used to drive by a Meramec Caverns and a Mail Pouch barn fairly regularly. I believe the Meramec barn is still standing, or at least it was a few years ago. The Mail Pouch barn is no more.
My boss, who has that same truck, had a homeland security agent pull out in front of him a few months ago. It got both headlights among other things. It really didn't look like 5,000 dollars worth, but it sure was. Uncle Sam didn't bat an eye. :D
Up into the 1970s bootleg cigarettes and hijacking cigarette trucks was a pretty common thing. I suppose it fell out of favor when the large scale practitioners of the game moved on to some sort of drug business.
A friend of mine has family who live near an Indian reservation. A few years back...
Interesting. So do people who work with tools such as farmers, mechanics, construction workers, plumbers, etc. have to obtain a permit of some type to transport otherwise prohibited items?
I suppose it depends on where you live.
Out here in the pucker brush it would hardly be noticed unless as Bob says, it was laying on the seat next to you. The bed of an average farm truck here would get you put in cuffs in a large city.
I recently attended a funeral service in my hometown for a classmate. I haven't lived there for 25 years. Until my mother passed, I would go to visit her and occasionally see a few people around town. A lot of the people I saw at the funeral were around my current age when I left. They are now...
You can experiment with balms and oils to find one you like. Also washing your beard with dandruff shampoo like you would your head will help with removing the flakes. I have never had dandruff or any other skin issues until this year. For some reason I suddenly developed a bit of psoriasis on...
I'd not want to bet against Mama Frosch having a straight razor and a run of piano wire in her coat pocket. She looks able to handle any business concerns that come up.
I'm sure it has been in this thread already,
but just a few days ago I stopped after work for a couple of things. As I approached the express lane, clearly marked 12 items or less, a woman nearly ran me over with her buggy trying to get ahead of me. I allowed it but said "Absolutely, go right...
Picked up this box last week. I don't know anything about it other than I thought it was neat. It is not particularly high quality wood and given that scratched into the bottom is "Homer Ketcham 1921", it may have been a shop project. I've got 10 bucks in it and it has to be worth that.
It will...
^^^ I'm not sure about that. When I was about 10 or 12 years old one of the neighbor kids swiped a Playboy magazine from dad or older brother. 3 or 4 of us were behind a garage learning about life's mysteries when an old neighbor caught us and took the opportunity to tell us how wrong and sinful...
I followed a couple of those that were for sale a few years back, but that received the same reaction that my Divco milk truck fantasy did from SWMBO, so I suppose I will have to continue to enjoy them when spotted in a movie here and there.
