Yeah, me too. I PM'ed him just before Christmas but I've had no reply and there's no activity showing on his page. I hope he's alright and just busy with Life and focused on other things or something. But yes, he's a font of knowledge in his arena and his presence is clearly missed.
And I have to say, that blue sweatshirt always looked so great with that A2. That with the khaki chinos and the rough-out boots. A perfect and simple ensemble if you ask me.
I say the responsibility lies with the thief and that woman deserves a weekend in the stocks so people can sneer and hurl insults and throw eggs and bad fruit and rotting vegetables (only very old cauliflowers and asparagus, mind. Have you seen the prices of them these days?! It'll soon be...
I don't think anything ticks me off more than someone stealing my mail. It's happened to me (Christmas presents to nephew and nieces back in England. Now they all get cash in a card).
I always go with a tracking service after that. It's terrible that it must come to that. Some people.
Man, I am gutted for you Dan. That's so low and tragic. I mean, really. I'd be seething beyond words.
It's not even my jacket and I feel bummed out for you! I really hope something positive can happen with the police. I wish I could take you out and buy you a few beers and commiserate properly...
I wish Big J was around for this thread! He'd have something good to contribute to this, I'm sure.
I'm going to be looking at the whiskey section a whole lot more closely after this …!
This has been an interesting thread - as, as well as just appreciating another jacket per se, I have learnt (thanks to Steve's post here) about the intricacies of the construction - and it's clearly a very tricky and skilled thing!
It reminds me that, just as not all qualified doctors are equal...
I think minor inconsistencies are everywhere within certain tolerances - and it's because they are analogue products and not produced digitally - and come the day when robots are making these things and turning out identical and perfect copies, I'll be glad to be dead and long gone.
I remember...
Hey, I'm not sure if you're joking here, A2 - I saw on a militaria website one time that there was a leather baseball glove just like that one in the ELC photo and it was marked USAAF! It was designated AAF property! And it wasn't that expensive either. It was something like $80 and in great...
I could only opine enough to say that any discrepancy in pocket shape wouldn't be a deal-breaker for me as I think this particular A2 has enough else going on to make it look very appealing - and I found the info on the decal to be most enlightening!
I must say that, at my next opportunity to...
Thanks the the updates fellas! Very interesting - and to score a jacket like that for $35?! Man alive. Unbelievable! Definitely the sort of thing I'm after …
And Nick123 asked me via PM if I was wanting to restore this jacket myself and do the sewing like DD would - and no, I'm not - I just want...
A real woman is a man's best friend.
She will never stand him up or ever let him down.
She will reassure him when he feels insecure and comfort him after a bad day.
She will inspire him to do things he thought he could never do; to live without fear and forget regret.
She will enable him to...
Welcome to TFL, MRB.
For all of text and email's technological wonder and its ability to enhance communication, I don't think that there's ever been more miscommunication in the world, so I can understand how you could be perceived for not getting off on the good foot you'd perhaps intended or...
The jackets in the 1986 Biggles movie were totally fantastic!!! (I once started a thread asking if anyone knew who made them, but seemingly nobody did) And besides the dreadful music, I enjoyed the movie too. A good romp.
