That sounds like you will be very near Ginger Man - one of the best beer halls in town! I'd invite you out for a drink but I will be working at the US Open tomorrow out on Long Island.

It's definitely not sized like an H&M cut. I still haven't bought it. In the meantime, I moved into a beautiful new apartment with a gated backyard garden and patio - for more than double what I was paying before. I don't have the jacket/suit, and I'm still very happy - go figure! lol

    A Truly Breathtaking Suit...

Ignoring the material, the cut somewhat resembles a jazz suit!

    Cleaning a white linen suit...

Yes sir! Just a generic Oxiclean that I let brake down in warm water that was then poured in the tub full of cold water for approximately 24 hours. I will take pictures over the next few days as a comparison for the site! I'm mighty pleased so far!

    Cleaning a white linen suit...

It's possible! I am really amazed at the results. Although, I thought the stain lifting really jumped; 8-12 hours into the process with not much change and then low and behold 24 hours into the process and I've got a sparkling new suit! All I've used is "oxygen clean" or whatever the knock...

    Cleaning a white linen suit...

ooh oh! I'm sorry! I have been off of work all week and don't have internet at home in my new apartment yet! But in my silence, I have indeed been busy! :D I soaked the suit in the tub starting monday morning. I mixed the oxiclean (actually the rite aid brand cheaper version) around every...

Living in the dark ages (golden era) without technology

Here's my story: I moved into a new apartment last week. I have been calling the cable/internet company trying to get a hook up at the new place for about a week and a half but with no luck so far. Apparently it's due to confusion caused by one of the apartments in the building being illegal...

    Cleaning a white linen suit...

Ooooh and I am! :) I've actually been watching some tropical-based films as a victory march of sorts :p I just recently found out that the 1919 Maurice Tourneur film, Victory was remade in 1930 by William Wellman as Dangerous Paradise! Excellent south seas story and directed by two of my...

    Cleaning a white linen suit...

Yes I did, and it's good! Hard to see on the ebay pictures, but there's a roped sleevehead. There are a few minor alterations and mends I need to have done. It's a bit tight around the stomach. I don't plan on moving any buttons as it's nothing a few weeks of situps won't fix...

    Cleaning a white linen suit...

Well I just received the suit yesterday in the mail and it's got an NRA tag!!!! It's my first suit with this tag and it was a surprise when I opened the box! I'm working all weekend so my first day to start the process will be monday. I will take pictures and report back asap! As listed, the...

    Cleaning a white linen suit...

I have a pair of cream flannel trousers that had yellow stains near the outer cuff. I took them to the dry cleaners and they couldn't get them out. I then soaked the affected area in oxiclean for 6 hours, washed, air dryed and then had them dry cleaned (mainly just to have them pressed) and...

I think he was fully realized, just on the stage rather than on film.

Actors Whose Careers Were Not Fully Realized

I guess it also depends if you mean they were celebrated for a time and have since been forgotten. That is often the case in stars of yesteryear. A terrific example is if you look at some of the contemporaries of Chaplin/Pickford/Fairbanks in the teens. An unbelievable amount of "stars" came...

    Cleaning a white linen suit...

So I am the proud new owner of this somewhat lived in, 1930's (?) Irish white linen double breasted suit: Any opinions on the best way to attempt to clean this?! I'm -hoping- it will be presentable enough to wear to my cousin's afternoon outdoor wedding next month...

    NYC's Film Forum

This is one of my favorite films!!! I was lucky enough to catch Where East is East on Monday! WOW!!! What a film!!! Lupe Velez may have just stole the film!!! I was struck by what a reserved portrayal Lon Chaney chose to go with in this picture. I bet he opted for similar in the lost 1929...

    Reproduction classic workwear

I actually think of these sort of clothes as almost one-of-a-kind works of art. The same as original vintage clothing that if you pass on, it's possible you may never see again or a one of a kind recreation by someone like Art Fawcett. Same difference, all depending on how you look at it...

    Reproduction classic workwear

Something like $170 after shipping. What's cool about them is they only have a window of a few weeks for people to order their products and then those are the only items produced from the prototype. They only offer one or two products a month. And rarely remake the same things twice. I dig...
