Sounds intriguing, Rudie. I can't wait to see these new offerings, as I fancy something different, especially if the quality is there. Is there any more information on what's coming and when? The forum's pretty sparse at the moment.
Looks good. I've had my fill of blue denim now, so hopefully Simon will add some other fabrics and styles.
As long as he doesn't do an LD over the waiting times and crazy pricing, he could be on to a winner if his quality is as good as you say. Never again will I wait more than 2 months for...
I forgot to say... The prices on Rakuten include 8% sales tax. That's deducted from your final price, which then usually covers postage if that's charged extra.
Peter, I bought two things from Rakuten yesterday. Delivery for the Iron Heart waistcoat was 1,800 yen (£10) and a Buzz Rickson N-1 was 6,200 yen. Jeans would be at the lower end of that scale.
Unless it's free delivery, you need to wait for the shop to confirm shipping and then you finalise...
I've cancelled 5 out of 6 LD items and am now ordering Iron Heart from Rakuten in Japan at less than half UK price. Not sure about customs yet, as just placed first order today.
I'll stay with Gustin as I've just had two orders come in a month early and I'm giving Ciano the benefit of the...
Really nice, and great you got the tour.
If they offered Dainite soles as an option I'd get another pair off them, as I like the two Derby's with commando soles I have, but fancy a thinner non-leather sole.
Cordwrangler, they're vanity sized, which isn't helpful, but the site shows the true specs and tells you how to order. For example, I usually order a 34" actual waist in jeans, so with Ciano I ordered a 32", as it's actual size is 35", with a further 1" of shrinkage to come. Don't know why...
I'm glad you got there in the end, Lenny. Your HWM looks great on you. I live almost next door to Aero and still don't get it right each time, even after many jackets, so don't feel too bad about your long journey.
Hey, Vespizzare, I see you're in Santa Monica. We've just started planning...
Sloan, what I like about Ciano is that he treats you as an individual. He sends out about 10 pics of your own actual jeans when they're made, then he listens to what you have to say about them and deals with it accordingly. In my case, he's going to send me pics of the pocket positions before...
I prefer a looser fit and Ciano's 905s fit the bill. I'd say they're comparable to the Gustin straight leg, but with a higher rise, which I'm happy with. Good for short jackets. And not tight on the leg.
Well sussed, Griff. It's going official soon, but I was pestering him for it. I chose navy 18oz canvas with copper thread and fancy wood buttons. There will also be a much wider colour choice. As it seems a relatively uncommon pattern, unlike the ubiquitous chore coat, I reckon this will be...
These are standard fit, bretron. Ciano does herringbone as well, if that suits you, and I would expect his choice of fabrics to expand over time. I got a sample of his 30oz canvas and it's like cardboard, really crazy stuff. I also got samples of the 18oz canvas and ordered two jackets in...
There's actually an update to this. I wasn't happy about the positioning and size of the rear pockets, as they're too small and spaced too widely, much more than normal. This seems to be an issue with some of Ciano's jeans. Anyway, he immediately offered a free rebuild and is changing his...
These look good, Jim. Is that a round Boss toe, as opposed to the normal square Harness toe? And good that you got them leather lined, as that costs another $90 on custom builds, and is something I'd have liked on mine, except for the price.
I have a couple of pairs of Wesco boots and like...
I think Ciano Farmer are worth a mention. They're another American Kickstarter mob (from Texas), but the difference here is that their prices are sensible (not ridiculously low, leading to massive delays) and the delivery times are a refreshing 6 weeks or so.
These are their Japanese Blood Red...
