Cockpit B-3's run large. I typically wear a 44 but I had to size down to a 40 to get the fit I wanted. I originally purchased a 44 through a 3RD party website but the folks at Cockpit were very helpful and exchanged it for me.

As promised I weighed my LW ANJ-4 and it comes in at 6.8 lbs. It's a standard size 44 purchased a little over a year ago. I'm told the older LW jackets use a stiffer sheepskin but I don't know if they were heavier. I hope this helps.

I recall a similar number being used in a Himel Brothers blog. I believe he indicated that it took between 30-45 sqft to construct a jacket depending on the length. I assume that this includes waste.

It's my understanding that this is a common complaint about the LW B-2 jacket. I purchased mine used and the collar snap had been replaced with a heavier one that is strong enough to hold the weight of the collar and easier to fasten.
