Fedora with Western Hat band
I'm a little late to this thread but here is one of my fedoras with a horsehair band. This a 3/8" band that does not have tassels which I think looks pretty good on a fedora style hat. The hat has a 2 3/4" brim. -

Hat Boxes
Most western wear stores have boxes from hats that were sold and the customer wore the hat out of the store. They will usually just give them to you. I have picked up a few boxes like that for hats I have. The markings on the box probably won't match but at least you have a storage box.
