Alas not in my size from the website. It only had up to 46.
I wouldn't lament your other G-1. I still think that a US Wings is a nicer jacket than the Excelled, fine looking jacket though the Excelled is. And I like my 100 Mission Cockpit better still.
There are definitely graduations of...
$100 is a good price. It seems that the guy who ran your auction has quite the corner on the market in G-1s.
I think it was him who I got my Cooper from a few years ago. $400 is just a bit too much for me right now, not so much in the affordability category as in the justifiability one (he...
Well shoot DJ. I sent her off this morning. You might be able to do some estimatin' (the poor cousin of figurin') based on the pics and the measurements.
I think Peter in the G-1 threads has a Pharr, albeit a smaller size.

Thanks guys! Looks like it went pretty quickly. Got a little nostalgic since this was my "war jacket" (such as it was).
I hope it goes on to a better place!
Thanks to TFL for the help.

Up for sale is my 2004 Pharr G-1. This jacket was issued to me as a replacement from the Pensacola Depot. It has the standard nametag on the left breast.
Though it's not my favorite maker, this thing is tough as nails. The difficulty hasn't been in wearing it out...it has been in breaking it...
Hey guys,
I got this jacket back in '97 to sport a handmade squadron patch and embossed nametag. Sadly, she's gotten a little tight over the years. I had to take the patches off as they had personal significance, but the jacket is too nice to not pass on.
This is a hybrid G-1/m-422a made by...
Yeah, I should have remembered that...I was looking at that auction just the other day.
I actually got my Cooper from this guy IIRC. His prices are pretty high though, for eBay. Truly, I'm about to sell my Pharr and my old G+B.
I really don't need another jacket. But for 200 clams, I could...
Beautiful work and for my own part, I like your style choices with the Star and Bar.
As to the pin up girl's assets, I understand the logic of your decision, but....
You'll never make it to Tokyo on small drops. ;)
Interesting that they only go up to 46...that might put me out of the running. I find it hard to imagine that they don't make a 48. I've seen some bruisers as aircrewman in my day and at least two pilots whose callsign was, "Tiny".
They really need to ditch the D-bag with the beard. These...
The more I see of the Excelled, the more I like it. I'm glad the boys have a jacket that they can be proud to wear again.
It's interesting. My Cooper is newish of course, but it says that the collar is Acrylic. But it's a much denser Acrylic than what my Pharr had. I wonder if the really...
The USWings look to be large fitting compared to the shots of you in that Excelled. Of course I don't know what size they are getting and they may be leaving room in there for cold weather gear, like a dry suit, which I think would be pretty much an every day piece of gear for those guys.

I am a 46-48, depending on the cut. 46 works if the shoulders are in the 21 in range. For the cuts that are less, everything fits except the shoulders.

Yeah, I'm digging the cut on these Excelleds. And if the mil and civil versions are identical....I might have another jacket on the horizon!

It probably comes down to that and who is doing the ordering. Just like here, everybody has their preferences and ideas of value.
Get a jacket nut in there and it's "Hellooooo, Signature Series!"

I wonder if the spec had an "effective" date? Obviously, the government couldn't expect a vendor to dump the 1000 goat hides that it had and purchase a bunch of steer hides.
I don't know what the contract cycle is on these items, but it could also be that Cooper was the last vendor who won the...
Good post. I've no doubt that the spec says that. I'm just saying that the Cooper or two I've seen has a goatskin label in it.
Here's another one. This one looks exactly like the jacket I was issued, down to whatever that cursive "Process" thing that's folded over on the tag says.
Pics...
I've been tempted by that offer. I do wonder if those jackets are exactly the same as the issued ones. As Peter pointed out, the Cockpit issue A-2 he had and the civie version were different in the leather. And if in fact what Skyhawk is saying means that issued Coopers were no doubt about it...
