Perhaps, but I've got a limited universe of items that would interest me. A vintage Buco J100, or something from Goodwear or ELMC perhaps. Maybe an Aero Wayfarer or Dustbowl. Maybe an RMC.
In other words, only interested in quality leathers. And a Shelby GT350, if you've got one of those...
I was actually talking about the actors, actresses, directors, etc., not the films themselves. But I do agree with you -- far too few movies really challenge us and our preconceived notions these days.
The fact that Eastman is a lune won't stop me from buying his jackets (just spoke to Charlie at HPA on Thursday about a Californian). If I boycotted everyone that offended me, I would never get to see another movie again, because just about all of Hollywood are raving mad crackpots who long ago...
Seal Vicenza racer is now sold (thanks, John). Black CXL Steerhide jacket still available.
Howdy all,
Time to move a couple Aero café racers on to a new home -- they just didn't work out for me. Both are marked size 38, and were both purchased in the last 10 months. eBay links are below...
Not sure I would do this on that jacket, but I have done this to one Aero I had that was super shiny out of the box --- use a Magic Eraser VERY lightly on the jacket. Kills the shine. Then a little pecards.
I have a J100 from Dave, and I discussed my journey with Dave (it involved a full remake) with other folks here previously. That's a different story, and not worth repeating here.
But I have to say this about the jacket in the OP -- holy ****. The character of the leather -- and just out of...
I am 5'9" with a 41" chest, and weigh 162 lbs. I have a pretty athletic build -- broader shoulders and slimmer waist. I currently have two Aero café racers -- both regular café racers. They are size 38, and fit wonderfully. I tried the board racer in size 40 and 42. The 40 was WAY too small...
I just see no need in arguing with a fool, or in getting involved in petty interweb squabbles. In the end, everyone emerges looking like fools. I just want a jacket...preferably with some sort of indication on it or in it that it was used in criminal proceedings against WL.
I'll go back...
I have read with interest (and chimed in now and then) this whole saga since it started. But I have an important question...
When will Aero get their jackets back, and, more to the point, when will they show up on the "Sale" page??? I want one!
I recently went through this decision process. The lightweight wool linings add little warmth compared to the cotton, but the wool wicks sweat away from your body, while the cotton drill simply absorbs it and it sits next to your skin. Even for a warm weather jacket, I would still probably go...
Great fit and great jacket. I have to admit, I'm a bit jealous that you nailed the fit the first time. It took me three tries before I got it exactly right! Nicely done.
HD, I have to respectfully disagree. I think the guy needs medication. And therapy -- lots of it.
Look at the bright side -- you have to admit that it is rather entertaining.
My name is Greg, and I'm a 30-something year old corporate lawyer in Delaware. I love guitars, live music, leather, motorcycles, vintage Jeeps and women. That last one in the list resulted in the "ex" prefix that identifies my former wife. My current girlfriend recently moved to NYC to take a...
Based on (1) the pic you shared showing the look you're going for, and (2) the seal Vicenza jacket I just received, I would suggest that you go with the dark seal. The regular seal is milk chocolate, the dark seal is dark chocolate, and it looks like you're going for dark chocolate. The...
Their email is in quotes below. Frankly, I'm insulted - AGAIN. Every experience I have had with this company -- from ordering, to waiting, to waiting some more, to being insulted by the guy who told me that despite their promise, my order wasn't going to arrive in time for Christmas and that...
That last jacket looks much better in person -- it's draped across a chair in my office as I write this. I was originally worried about all the modifications I made to the standard café racer (delete shoulder gussets, straight yoke, delete kidney panel, board racer collar, sleeves zips set on...
