I am a sucker for Open Road style with cattleman crease. The color would look great in that style. Either way, I am sure it will turn out great. It would be interesting to see how you handle the high crown in a cattleman crease. I really enjoy your posts because I learn a lot.

Here are some comparison photos, both Resistol Ft Worth models. I rebashed the 5x, and the 2x has its original crease. The 2x is too small for me (7 1/8), but the price was very low and no one was bidding.
I bought it for educational purposes so I could learn more about this era of Resistols...
Unbelievable that they made such artwork on boots. I got my first boots as a kid in the early sixties and still remember them. They were Acme, actually fairly high quality. They were very ornate with steer head cutouts with gold horns!

I wouldn't use liquid. Most of it contains alcohol which can dry the leather. I am no expert but have always used meltonian boot cream for nicks and scrapes, very successfully. It comes in many colors and you can mix colors to get the shade you want. I use leather dye from tandys also, since I...
