Don't know what brand you're talking about but it all goes to instep & arch. If the boot is made properly you won't have any problems adjusting to that 1/4". If you take a flat footed boot like a Roper & add a 1/4" to the heel for example, it will throw everything off.Yeh, I have a taller heel in my snakeskin boots and I can't get used to them. I wouldn't think that 1/4" would be such a big deal but it feels like a lot. Even my wife remarks that I tower over her when I am in my boots......1/4" seriously???
I love these Pablo Jass myself.
Those are beautiful! The red and black is outstanding. I love the classic look of snip toes and mule ears. These are some of my best BBQ boots. I like my pants to fit where the mule ear just shows when I'm standing, like it is showing below the hat in the first pic.

Yes, I think it is a problem adjusting to the steeper rake of a cowboy boot. It just "feels" so much higher. I guess that is what happens when a city kid like me tries to wear a cowboy boot. I looked again and the snake skin boots are Justins as well.Don't know what brand you're talking about but it all goes to instep & arch. Thats what I was looking on ebay. They were too small though. If you see any Bullhide packer lace up let me know.
Thanks!
Let me know if you see any size 12 D for sale.I own a pair of those too. (size 11) Justins. Black Bullhide vamps, Oil tanned leather shafts. Maybe I need to offer up a couple of pixs in here!
Another awesome pair of boots! I am really enjoying seeing the custom boots. The more photos the better!I haven't seen this much activity on this thread in a long time and I'm really enjoying it. Since HJ posted a pic of the Pablo Jass boots, I thought I'd repost my pair of Ray Jones boots, the man who mentored the Jass brothers, Pablo, John and Michael. Pablo still makes boots as Ray Jones did, using Jones patterns for stitching and doing three rows of pegs. Pablo has stepped out a bit, doing the fancy stitched vamps and such. He and John still use the same toe bug/flower. Historians say Jones only offered two stitch patterns, though I've only ever seen the one. Jones died in 1983.

I bet you will get used to them after a while. Just get out there and strut.Yes, I think it is a problem adjusting to the steeper rake of a cowboy boot. It just "feels" so much higher. Paul Bond.Love that red over black. Have to get some black jeans if I go for those packers. Who made these? I just love em.
The drews on the bay were EE+ extra wide. Couple of possibilities on the Dress web page. Thanks for the tip@jonesy86 , if you're interested in packers, you might give these a look. I have no experience with packers but everything I've heard about Drews is good, FWIW.
