Here are couple of my wife's boots. The tan ones are black label Lamas, and the black are Nocona. She wanted some well worn, pre broken in boots, and the tan ones fit the bill. She likes the deep scallop on the Noconas. Not sure of the year on the Noconas, but they weren't made in Nocona. I...
Yes, it was an auction, sorry I wasn't very clear. I hoped I hadn't bid against anyone here. I didn't wait until the last minute and a couple of bids came in after me. I still bid almost twice what they sold for. I couldn't get the auction photos to load.
I will post when they get here.

I find this to be true of so much western wear. This is what started my hunt for vintage western wear. After years, I found myself to be without any quality gear. So I went into some, so called western stores, and all I could find was overpriced low quality hats, boots, shirts, etc. When I...
Thank you, I bet you weren't silly looking at all. Southern rock was popular, and I went to see Lynrd Skynrd as a long hair with western hat and boots in 1974. Billy Powell was even wearing an embroidered H bar C shirt. Western was rockin.

I just thought someone here might have bid on them. I agree with you about the big three, that's why I like finding the good ones. I don't mean to bore anyone with this, but when I worked and managed a western store '74-'78, you could custom order boots from Tony Lana. I ordered a paid of j...
Thank you, I appreciate the welcome. I just scored a pair of Nocona natural python, made in Nocona. I hope I didn't disappoint anyone here. They look pretty good. I will post some photos when they arrive.

I really enjoy seeing photos of the West during that time period. Thought I would post a picture of my boots. Nothing spectacular here. Brown Tony Lama, black python Tony Lama, black Tony Lama, grey Nocona, and black ostrich Nocona. None of the Lamas are black label, but my wife has some.

I meant to comment earlier, but wanted to say how nice the crease works with the color. The shadowing caused by the side dents emphasizes the finish and color even more. Beautiful color combination.

This just keeps getting better! Man, I love that hat. The boots are exceptional too. I am a big fan of western boots and wear them every day, so I appreciate seeing them in the photo. What kind of leather are they?

Not to mention some great brews from San Diego, Ballast Point Sculpin, Stone IPA, and West Coast Green Flash. Perfect climate, and it appears, home to some great hats!

That is very nice! I'd wrestle you for that one. The crease looks good. Nothing like rescuing a neglected hat and making a gem from it!
