What's your favourite Red Hair colour?

You probably need a higher volume developer - but with that comes damage! I can get away with 5vol, because my hair is naturally red. When I was blonde, however, the red kept coming through, so I'd have to use 30 or 40vol. So I know your pain ;)

Bombshell Becca and Cherry Red, welcome to the bandwagon, you're looking great! :eusa_clap Psycho Sue, welcome to the lounge, great 'dos :) Darla1949, aren't you wearing faux bangs in the Hallowe'en costumes thread? They look fab! I couldn't wait for my hair to fill up a rat, so I used...

The Cleaning Clothes (vintage or other) Thread

That's the trouble with washing rayon, it shrinks so drastically! I hand-wash in cold water to reduce shrinkage, then hang it to dry. It usually falls back into its original shape. If not, I give it a good steam. Haven't had a problem yet, although washing is my absolute last resort...

The History/Evolution of Birth Control *Ladies Only*

I didn't get that when I read it. I'm so used to the direct advertising of today - Sometimes too direct. Some of those make me squirm too. The only brands advertised that are still in use today are Midol, Kotex and Tampax, I noticed. Today we know how damaging douches can be. They are...

I might be inclined to pummel you with Timbits lol Not to worry, I wasn't offended at all. Thanks for the compliment! It's very hard to argue with that principle indeed. Except that Santa is dressed for snow at Christmas! Maybe he has a t-shirt on under his coat... You present an...

    Vintage Manicures

I accidentally got a good shot of a reinforcement manicure. The purpose was to get a shot of my guy's bruised earlobe (I didn't know it was possible to do that!)

Holy cow Jirina, what a femme fatale! I wish my hair was long enough to do that 40's 'do, and your fake bob is lovely! DON'T GET A PERM! I was 14 when I got mine, because I wanted to put my pin-straight hair into large curls like yours. BAD IDEA. I looked like a French poodle - Not...

What Makes You Choose One Decade Over Another?

Actually, the 1930's was the only decade which did not distort women's body shapes. The 20's was slim and boyish, the 40's was tall and shoulder-padded, and the 50's was voluptuous hourglasses. Watch Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers movies, paying attention to the women in the background - they...

Video games based in the golden era

They make Deja Vu for DOS, Retro Russ? Awesome! EDIT (again): Fixed it. I've beat A Nightmare Comes True, and I'm still working out Lost in Las Vegas. I'm having way too much fun, it's so suspenseful!
