I'm jealous of all of you with these Johnson experiences. They never replied to my email so I tried reaching out through Instagram and whoever runs that basically replied to my questions with "That's cool". Lol.
I'll have to phone them, maybe that will work.
I would ignore those measurements; remember, this is a spec sheet for factory use. Those probably refer to something that comes up in leather cutting or stitching.
The relevant chest measurement as a customer is the first one.
They're not. The upper sleeve of these riding focused models is cut for extreme freedom of movement, about as good as a G-1. You can tell from the forearm that the sleeve size is right.
@Canuck Panda I have a ~1.6mm steer Schott. It's extremely hefty. Doesn't quite fit but I've kept it around...
The bi-swing isn’t blown out. Vanson’s are maximally functional (and have a cool look in their own right).
Will already covered flattening the collar. Great jacket!
They did it again?!?! I would have thought in making your jacket they would at least fix what they screwed up on Pandemic's. Did they at least refund you? They were refusing to refund Pandemic until the embarrassment of the TFL thread got too much, IIRC.
No offence intended to anyone (really)...
Yeah the Premier/1930s cut is almost absurdly undersized in the shoulders compared to standard for those sizes. You generally need to go up one size or even two. The numbers don't especially make sense to me.
I'm glad Aero was able to switch it out!
@TartuWolf I think this is the most straightforward explanation. I would go with this over the over-complicated theories us TFLers often get sucked into (myself included).
I’m sure they can do it. She had them make me a real mouton collar and they definitely have brown and tan mouton in the factory because they use it for G-1s and half belts.
In my case, I generally wear it done up, but if I don't, I want it to hang like Johnny Ramone rather than stay floating in the air.
Head of the repair/alterations department at Schott. Amazing to work with. If you need something worked on, it's Jerri @schottnyc.com
It's so even if you don't have the belt fastened, the buckle doesn't come down and hit your gas tank.
I get the practical appeal but I'm shallow so I dislike it for aesthetic reasons (the floating buckle looks weird lol).
They do great repair/alteration work at, if anything, below-market prices.
A relative (big guy but average height) even went into a Schott store for a sleeve shortening and they sent it to the factory for free! (I wouldn't say to count on that–especially since their alteration rates are...
I've come full circle on this.
I've come to like their quite basic website; I essentially see it as business-to-business focused, with the savings accordingly passed down.
As for the jackets with branding (not something I generally like), not all of them have it but those that do are very...
