This is the French calf, right? I was ready to buy that jacket, if not for it being a little too long for me and the lack of epaulettes/belt–the leather was just that beautiful.

That said I dissent from Canuck’s theory. My experience has been that narrow hems and extra length are as poor a pairing as the numbers would suggest. The combination very much does bunch and ride up.
I like that it didn't develop that meat-red tone that most undyed veg tans I've seen do. I wonder if the conditioning prevented it, or if it's just a characteristic of this leather.
In the mean time I can say that the sleeve length of this jacket (I was the brief previous owner) felt just slightly shorter than my Schott Perfecto and Aero Ridley jackets with 26" sleeves, because the sleeve design of the Cal sort of incorporates the shoulder. I remember thinking they might be...
Practically, I totally get it. I realize what a random thing it is that I have a distaste for it.

Aero actually still makes this jacket (as you probably know, Aero developed LVC's leather line, and as part of the deal they are allowed to keep producing the jackets) by the name Speedway, so if anyone is interested, that would be the alternative on the market today.
