    I'm not sure what you mean. Basically every Japanese brand makes a version of the Buco J-24, the Schott 613, the Lewis Lightning and Dominator, often using the exact same leathers.

    I think the soft Italian horsehide might be right then, given your other preferences. I see you added CXL to your OP–I would totally rule it out. It's going to be quite stiff, even if tumbled, so it's not going to satisfy what you're looking for.

    Depends on the leather. The 613SH I mentioned is super stiff the first couple of weeks then breaks in blanket soft.

    Tbh even 1.5mm is pretty hefty. I would strongly recommend that you consider the Schott 613SH. I find it nicer than the Leon Custom in every respect (leather, pattern, etc) and as a bonus it's ½ the price.
