You’d clean up. There are often a ton of cool jackets your size that get passed by because they’re tagged 44 or something but it’s actually a reverse vanity size for a Japanese retailer so it doesn’t fit the people that size.
Legendary is doing some kind of final clearance sale of their Schott jackets.
Burnt bridges after the Black Stallion incident?
I'm not particularly blown away by these prices, but here it is if anyone is curious.
Oh I'd missed that you're in the Bay. No reason to consider anything other than Johnson, then.
Either they have a stock sale item that works for you or they make a custom that's cheaper than almost all the ready to made options we've mentioned. They're like the Vanson of California.
Doesn't really get slimmer than the Vanson Comet. On top of that, it has amazing range of movement. The only caveat is that it's a tad bit short at some heights (Vanson says this directly) and at 6'1" I experience this, but only just barely so at your height you should be just fine.
A 40 in...
Maybe the new 618 variant the PER62 (I just made a thread for it) would be up your alley, because it seems to have a bit of each of the three jackets you mention.
I got a marketing email from Schott today featuring their new 'Special Edition Teacore Perfecto' jacket, and it seems to have elements that a lot of people have been asking for.
At its core, it seems to be the PER70–a vintaged and distressed take on the 618–that a lot of people here liked...
The most bizarre one is the watchmojo on the side which usually advertises things a couple of years too late (but as I start writing this it's advertising the very TFL friendly upcoming Scorsese film lol).
It's usually unusable for me now, but I understand the ads really do pay for the site so if they're causing them the admins are in a hard place.
Either way, it's certainly depressing interaction (and consequently the value of the advertising). I often think of posting something, then the site...
They used to sell both a full detachable belt model (both standard Perfecto style and CHP style) and attached half belt model. I think the lumbar shape and the front shape on the new 613/618/118 are directly linked. I agree that it doesn't look as good, but it does have great range of movement...
A new one costs a good chunk more there in the first place due to import costs.
However, as Jason points out, the people on eBay are specifically targeting the Western market which they know will pay extra for anything coming from JAPAN. If you go on the Japanese market auction sites, used...
I'm not a fan of hoodies in general but my Buzz Rickson's (lightweight) and Sugar Cane/Whitesville (thermal-lined) are fantastic. Bear in mind Whitesville runs about a size bigger than BR despite being the same company so it puts me in the unusual position of a Japanese garment that's a little...
First time wearing this jacket though I’ve had it a while. Summer just hasn’t relented.
The collar is quite stubborn which made me concerned at first but it seems to be mostly a factor of leather stiffness. I hadn’t expected the navy horsehide to be quite this stiff but I’m enjoying it! The...
I agree with this in theory but the people who've had him make Perfectos off of pictures ended up having horribly proportioned jackets with tiny pockets and other things.
Better off going with one of his existing Perfecto-style designs, the JC Penney Two Star or the Wolf.
I agree! I posted something similar but I think the site went down as it was uploading so it didn't go through.
It isn't how I'd wear the Perfecto, but it suits the look he's going for (doesn't look like one of those absurd fashion cross-zip looks either) and frankly because a 618 usually...
Looks great but I don't think there's any connection to LW.
Stu is from Queens, not Brooklyn.
The jacket styling also looks different to (even old) LW but that doesn't necessarily tell us anything in itself because companies will produce stuff to order.
