To me they are different.
CXL is heavy because it is full of wax, not really because it is that thick. Also i think the Aero patterns get uncomfortable in heavy leather, too much weight on the neck.
I also have a Chopper, it is still my heaviest jacket, but it is much thinner than the 4.5 LW, i...
I told Stuart "go full heavy" and he did, 4.5+oz! Breaking it in as i type this, it is night and day compared to my 3.5oz J-24.
I wouldn't say i like it more or less, it is different.
Saying that, after wearing the 4.5 for a couple hours going back down to 3.5 feels weird, like you are putting...
This is literally exactly what i plan on ordering the day i visit the Langlitz shop.
Really nice jacket, great fit. I really want to handle it to see what their goat is like...
That's an awesome neck repair!
I don't think i would have the nerves to buy an instrument with that repair, but if i had a 20 year old guitar with that fix i would definitely play it.
Here is some SG goodness to purify your eyes after the denim hot pants above...
Horrible balance, they get painful on long gigs, but great tone. Very few things growl like an SG.
Top one is from 77, bottom one from 78. I prefer the chicken knob configuration on the 78, mode 4 is neck pickup with...
Well yes and no. It's slimmer than the suburban, but i would not call it slimmer than the J-23/24.
This one was tapered down a little at the waist, and it is still a bit baggier than the J-23.
When you look at it it has a weird hourglass Shape where the tightest point seem to be the pits.
It has...
Thanks, yep i am very happy with it.
Can't really say much about how it "feels", i have worn it an hour and it still feels very very stiff.
Will post a review in a couple weeks once it is broken in and i have lived with it a bit more.
But first impressions are good, it has roomy shoulders, very...
Fresh out of the box!
Perfect fit IMO, wouldn't change a thing.
Two things i have learnt, when Stuart says "very heavy" he means it, also he is a wizard as far as sizing goes.
I was worried about bottom hem diameter and sleeve length, he nailed it.
I agree with @Peacoat that the LW on is probably the best leather peacoat money can buy.
If you want a cheaper option i would just buy a used Schott on eBay, there are always lots of them going cheap.
To me the SanMateo wins hand down.
It's just the coolest jacket there is and it fits you very very well.
I'm glad you got it, but i'm also very jealous that it fits you after never fitting me.
Great collection!
Edit: i kinda want to see it worn with a belt, do you have a belt to try on, see...
