Hey all!
Thought I'd stop by and say hi and drop a new poem on you all.
Here goes...
A nasty bug has chased away
The hug I'd planned for Mother's Day.
So, from afar this boy in a Hommie
Bids a happy day to his dear old Mommie!
Mayser homburg that I got from Stefan on a beautiful early...
Cool find!
French hats are notoriously hard to date because the French hatters seem to have been in no hurry to adopt new innovations and techniques, but going just by the dimensions and shape I'd venture a guess of late 50's to mid 60's.A half-size stretch shouldn't be a problem if the leather...
I have not tried vodka to deodorize a hat before, but I did once soak a leather jacket I found thrifting that had a pervasive nasty smell to it in a handle of cheap vodka overnight. Took the nasty odor right out.
I have had good results getting old tobacco smell out of a hat by sealing it in a...

Sorry I haven't been posting much lately. Hope everyone is doing as well as they can.
Have a great day!

Since I got it for around $1175.00 cheaper than retail I can live with it. Can't see it when I'm wearing it anyway! :)
Hey all!
Sheltering on porch with my Optimo Superfino on a beautiful California day.
The fineness of the weave of this hat blows me away. Can't imagine how long it took to achieve that level of skill.
Have a great day!
Thanks Randall! I'm lucky to have found them, especially the Stetson in that color. :)
The SLS is indeed a wonderful old hat, very Whippet-y in it's dimensions and trim, but I would have to say superior in quality to the Stetson. Shame yours is too small for you, but what great trading fodder...
