It was a beautiful day here in Northern California. A day made for straw, so I busted out this old colonial blocked Adam Royal Quality Panama that I suspect is from the late 30's to early 40's.
The brim, which was treated with coconut oil for dryness a couple years ago is still...

Glad that the coconut treatment worked. One thing I did notice after using it on that old optimo-blocked Adam was that after a few months the oil got a faint rancid aroma that got a little stronger after wearing it a few hours. I got similar straw-rejuvinating results on another dry straw...

I rhink the best option would be to leave it as is and have a new hat made just like it with a raw brim. Then another in grey, and one in dark brown, and one in olive, and one more maybe.... :D
