Since Tapatalk no longer plays well with the lounge, I haven't posted photos

But for my daily 5 mile hike, it's always my Akubra Banjo Peterson... For just about all other occasions, I wear my Stetson Roadster that's been converted a bit. See the Roadster section to see pics of the conversion.

Stylepark Black/Charcoal Heather

I haven’t yet replaced the sweatband in this old Stylepark, but this overcast fairly stagnant day gave me a chance to wear it for a grocery run today. The felt on this hat is very unusual. It is extremely soft and light weight... it is fairly thin but not incredibly so. I originally thought from the photos it would be wool. But it does not feel like most wool hats I’ve handled Or fur felts for that matter. Maybe some combination of wool and fur... I do not know. What I can say it shapes with incredible ease and holds just about any shape within a fraction of an inch and it does this without hardly any feel of stiffener whatsoever.

The 2 inch brim is adorned with spiral stitching and a very tight overwelt edge with tiny stitching. It creates an almost cavanagh like appearance. I believe this spiral stitching also ads function of additional support of the very soft felt for the brim.

The Stylepark tag inside indicates it was manufactured in the Camden, New Jersey Stylepark factory. This factory was sold December of 1941 to a chemical company as reported by NY Times

So it appears this hat would have been produced 1941 or earlier. It does seem to have 30s proportions with its tall crown and shorter brim. Eventually I will have the sweatband replaced and return it to full service.
