85 Squadron, 249 Squadron and to some extent 43 Squadron as well.
And yes - I do believe that the outcome of The Battle of Britain had a vital impact on WWII. Maybe even the most important single scenario.

But a friend of mine was absolutely terrified of the thought.

My guesse is that wearing a crusher hat, while on leave or off flying was a sign of being a "real" airman - just like the open top button on the tunic was a fighterpilot sign in RAF.

I am the happy owner of a Type C Leather flying helmet - and it has been with me for several years now.
