The sun is extremely hot and bright today, though it's very comfortable in the shade. We weren't at Seiberling Nature Realm for too long.
They only made wool hats, so you're not missing out. Here's a great thread in the Steamer Trunk, showing photos from a member's trip to the Merrimac Hat Museum. Be sure to go all the way through it, as he's got photos of his return visit.
I'm curious about the feel of the felt, as the proportions aren't all that make the hat. It's makes me wince a bit whenever someone posts that they had a Whippet or Strat clone custom-made in pure beaver. To me, part of the appeal is the thickness and weight of the hat.

Milan is pretty easy to work yourself, but if it needs a pro, Optimo certainly does it.
edit- my response is based upon milan as wheat straw. I have no idea if it's easy to work the poly-straw. When the one I once had gave me problems, I just tossed it.
