    Ebay Hats: Victories, Defeats, Gripes & Items of Interest

    Me too. The size was kind of sketchy but, for $26, it would be on its way to me. I'm only against the offer to end when I'm not the one who benefited from the bargain. As long as ebay makes it possible (I know it's against the rules), it's all part of the game.

    Lounge Downtime

    I'm not sure if this is a problem for everyone, or if it's just me on Google Chrome: When inserting a link and "re-naming" it, the portion I would normally re-name is no longer highlighted. Instead, when I start typing what I want to rename the link, what I'm typing appears after it. Example...

    A hat fit for a future king

    google provides - Open Road was inactivated 8-11-98 but... a new filing was made on 8-24-09 which appears to be active They went from protecting "The Open Road" to "Stetson Open Road" and the registrant went from being JBS, Canada to just JBS (in Jersey).

    Very nice. That's the first of DRB's hats I've seen. Please post many more photos of that one - inside, macro of the felt and ribbon, etc. I'm really interested in seeing his home-made felt.

    Vintage Workwear

    Lots of fantastic stuff has ended recently. My favorite was moth-food's dress of (possibly) Stifel cloth. It looks like it's right out of the Jeans of the Old West book. The period repairs are great.

    As a guess, yes. Vinyon was invented in '39, and the War was certainly the period of experimentation by necessity. 1946 also ebay pics

    Only the second plastic felt I've ever seen. Mallory Plastic Felt, 25% vinyon, 75% wool. (I searched vinyon and understand it to be pvc.)

    The Stratoliner Appreciation Club {MODERN}

    Semi-OT, but isn't the company just called RHE Hatco, Inc.? According to this, Hatco is currently owned by an affiliate of Pro Equine Products, Inc. BTW, very cool to wrangle a hat you didn't wear into one you do.

    just this, for now I'm guessing that it's this corner of 2nd and Pine that's referenced above, as it's the only one with what might have been shops. Of course, Stuart may have been demolished for office space.

    What Hat Are You Wearing Today 1?

    I rotated between my one panama, my beater milan, and my Lofgren cap all weekend, pictures were always taken around kids - which means I wore my beater everywhere they went. 7.2 Picnic in a North Ridgeville park for a belated father's day/mom's birthday party. Follow my trail of magic and...
