I have a black cafe racer horsehide motorcycle jacket that I wear with blue jeans & brown boots quite often.
I have brown leather jackets that I seldom wear with black boots though, usually wear a grey or black jacket with black boots.
I have many more brown boots than black & more brown...

The brim width is a great alternative to the original Campdraft. I think a 2 3/4" would be spot on....
That is the jist of my question HD = due to the life style & span of a cow versus a steer, is the leather quality different?
You are right about cattle = most folks say "look at those cows" not meaning they are all females....English is such a fun language...
I know the difference between a cow & a steer & never had to milk a steer to figure that out.
In the leather used by Aero for jackets, I think I have seen labels of genuine steerhide & genuine cow hide.
Is steer superior to cow if tanned/processed the same way? TIA

Sure, changing the oval should be just reblocking with a LO block instead of Regular Oval one.
Going multiple sizes up can result in losing brim width because that moves up into the crown.
That's all I wear basically... I buy the 13MWZPW (PW = Pre-Washed)...I don't send them to the dry cleaners to have a crease starched into them like a lot of the horse-show crowd do. Spurs keep the backs from dragging & wearing like Edward mentions...
