I know the feeling...
I have been looking for a Greco version of that recording bass for a while, i have never played one but i really like the look of them.
The T-bird sounds awesome, but it is an awkward bass to play, it neck dives like no other and because of the shape the neck feels very...
That sounds weird, because i usually aim for a 20-20.5" bottom hem, and 52,5cm is 20.6".
I don't know what to tell you... It definitely didn't feel like 20.6", more like 22".
It might be worth risking it, can you return it if you are unhappy with the fit?
I full agree with that.
IMO the felt difference between wool and cotton is more obvious in warm weather than in cold weather.
To me wool is too warm for most of the year, but not warm enough for winter, even in strome thickness.
It is basically the worst of both world and the reason i tend to...
I don't know, i run hot and for me a wool liner is never an option in summer.
Even the thinnest Locharon tartan is too much for me.
I would rather wear a cotton lined jacket, i even prefer wearing a LW with a double liner (cotton inner layer with a nylon outer layer), it is IMO less sweaty than...
I'm not sure you can compare a wool suite or a wool whicking shirt to a wool lining in a leather jacket.
In a leather jacket the lining is inside a leather bag that doesn't breath much, there is little whicking going on.
All it's doing is trapping more heat next to your body than cotton would...
How can it have a wool liner and not be insulated in any way? Those are literally contradictory statements...
Wool is an insulator, it's pretty warm as a liner, warmer than cotton.
Riding in warm weather with a wool liner is IMO i bad idea, might as well wear a sweat suit.
Photo taken with the iMac webcam, indeed it is mirrored.
I am a righty...
The one on the left is a 77 Gibson RD artist, originally designed for John Entwistle, but he didn't like them and never played them. They have a giant Moog board built in with a compressor an expander and an active EQ...
You're welcome.
This is my Chevalier in Dark brown pigment after a couple weeks of wear.
Its thin enough that you really never feel like you have to break it in, it felt like a glove from day 1:

Himel doesn't really do thick leather, i have 5 or 6 Shinki jackets and they didn't really need any break in compared to something like a Vanson comp weight or a Lost Worlds.
I don't think ease of break in should come into play for that decision, if there is a difference it will honestly be...
Hi Brian, welcome.
There will be very little difference in term of how they wear/feel, they are basically the same hides.
The difference is in the way they are finished.
The black oil HH will be black all the way through, meaning that the top coat is black, and the hide is drum dyed black...
I have never handled or tried on the Mulholland, but seeing how it fits @dudewuttheheck i doubt it would fit me and you that well.
I would love to be wrong though, as it's a great looking jacket!
The roadstar Fits me much better than the highway star.
The roadstar has a classic V shape, the higway star is an hourglass shape.
If you are a curvy boy (hips as wide as shoudlers or close) the Highway star should work on you, if you are V shaped like me (shoulders much wider than hips) it is...
IMO, the only thing you should do regularly is wipe the back of the neck and the inside of the wrists (if they are leather lined) with a damp cloth every couple weeks, especially in summer. I have seen enough jackets with damage in these areas to be afraid of skin oils/sweat attacking leather...
My first leather jacket was a Schott 644, i bought it in NYC at Kaufman's Army & Navy store back in 2013.
I don't really wear it as often as i used to as i now prefer cross zips, it's basically my beater leather jacket...
You do know most fur collars are removable, you just stick them on in winter to be warm and remove them in summer.
To me that's the best of both worlds.
A regular leather jacket with a fur collar will be all you need down to -5c.
A fur collar really does a lot for comfort in cold weather, i usually only wear fur collared leather jackets from below 10c to -5c. If it gets colder i get out the sheepskin.
