That looks like the same kind of goatskin used on the riders jacket you bought for me.
It has a really nice weight and feel, vintage swedish goatskin is awesome!
It basically fits you like it fits me, the hourglass shape doesn't work cause you are too tall i feel.
IMO the jacket is too short and the larger part of the bottom hem ends up being high towards your waist rather than lower towards your hips.
They both look too wide at the bottom hem, whilst...
Is that because back then colour photography was still too expensive?
A quick google tells me colour photography became readily available in the 60s but that the prices remained high untill the 70s.
I assume that in the late 40s it was probably cheaper/easier to take a B&W pic and have it...
Well, i just won one of these CXL Gold Standard Commandos.
@Bfd70 was right about no one on eBay caring about the difference in leather, it looks close to unworn and went for $750 with no other bid, coming from $1600 new i am pretty pleased.
The jacket has to reach @JMax first (thank you!) and...
Shouldn't there be a warranty? Anything bought in the EU should be covered by a two year warranty.
I don't think that still applies if something is sold to the US, but you could try, i would like to know if Aero stands behind their products even if they don't legaly have to.
It would also be...
Weird, my pigment Shinki Chevalier molded to me within hours, it took barely any wear at all for it to fully mold to my body:
Personally i think the back is the best bit of the Imperial, the front is pretty plain, so is the collar and the sleeves.
The back is literally the most interresting...
I remember seeing this jacket on the IH forum, it was machine washed on high heat and then tumble dried on high heat too, which is a really really dumb thing to do IMO.
I don't think this is a fair comparison, you can't put user stupidity and manufacturing defects on the same level.
I get the same thing, which is why i wipe the collar of worn jackets weekly during the warm months.
I also do a wipe down of all the collars once a year on top of that.
All i use is a wet microfiber, if it is a jacket i have worn lots or if the collar looks dry i also give it a wipe with the rag...
I don't know, i have seen these machines in use, but i don't know how they are setup or what the system to use them is.
What i do know is that they have 2 different machines, 1 is a splitter that can split a hide in two and leave you with a full grain part and a suede part, there is then a...
What you are seeing is a scratch created by the walking foot during stitching...
There is a difference between a scratch, slow abrassion at wear points and "chunks of topcoat coming off at random places".
To me what i see in the pictures posted in the original post are small superficial scratches, i don't see chunks of top coat peeling off.
This is top coat peeling off:
