I have always found with a traditional wool sweater that it feels - and looks better - to have it in a slightly larger size, so that it looks a bit (but not too) baggy and is not too tight-fitting. I don't know if others agree?
One aspect of the military woolly pully that I like very much is the turn back cuffs, which I think look great and reach further back than those of most sweaters.
It's great that the cold weather's coming back a- nice excuse to wear traditional thick woolly sweaters. Yes, I am delighted to add the brown and dark grey to my collection of military knitwear.
Hello Steve, sorry about the email problems. The pen pockets are indeed useful. My dark brown and dark grey woolly pullies arrived today and I am extremely pleased with them!
Sounds good. I have one green ith pen pockets, one without! I wore my black one yesterday - very nice! [It doesn't have pen pockets but does have shoulder straps.]
As for Guernseys, I have the Navy blue, along with olive green, new natural, denim blue, breton red, another shade of dark red, black (Royal Tank Reg. colour) and a few others I can't recall off-hand!!
They are very good - comforatble and durable, as you already know. Which colours are you considering? I am thinking about Peat Brown and Dark Grey (mainly because I have so many of the others).
Hello Steve,
We clearly share the same sensible taste in traditional wollly pullovers. Re. the military woolly pullies, click on the first icon in the WP section of Outdoor Knitwear (with the picture of the chap in the olive green). You will then see larger picture of said chap, plus a range...
I am looking with interest at the woolly pully section. I already have olive green, air force blue, navy blue, black, moss green - but would like the dark brown and the grey mix, for starters, to add to the collection. As I said before, I'm a bit of an aficionado.
That's a beautiful sweater. I have bought several from them over the years and also recommend them highly. I note that they have a new military woolly pully range as well (see the section marked 'woolly pully').
