It's been raining all day and i have been switching between these two to get them wet and break them in:
@JMax and @dannyk this should give you an idea of the fit of the HD.
I'll try to take better pics once they are both propoperly broken in, will post a review of the Cycle Champ once i have...
If you want to have a go, i am a M both in Commando and Cycle champ, here are measurements straight from Constantine:
SIZE: M SIZE: L
Chest Circumference 45" 48"
Bottom Sweep 41" 44"...
I thought the regular HH and CH were chrome, the sheep was veg, and the "fancy cow" (£400 upcharge) was veg.
I read the description you posted and the sentence "The leather has been vegetable tanned and full grained," leads me to believe they have no idea what they are talking about, one does...
I did, and it was a mess, but they sorted it out.
When i ordered i asked them to double QC the jacket they were shipping me, since it was shipping from the US to EU, import taxes, expensive shipping, i really wanted to make sure i had no reason to send the jacket back.
They tell me no worries...
It's a great jacket, the pattern is my favourite Vanson yet, it is super comfortable.
Leather is X150, which is nice, it doesn't have the open pores that are common on the comp weight for the moment.
I asked Constantine more info about the pattern (is it an exact copy of an OG Harley jacket or...
Agreed, all they do are cosmetic overhauls of the same not great patterns...
You can tell just looking at the pic that the jacket is going to rest on the neck, the bottom hem is going to flare out like crazy and the back of the shoulders is going to be tight.
It seems their stitching has gotten...
Smart move from Alan, better lose a potential client than gain a customer you can't satisfy...
HH, in the guitar world people have been using brass add ons to add weight for decades.
Someone one day decided that a heavier guitar sang better, and they started making heavy brass bridges, heavy...
The two i am currently working on, Vanson Commando in CXL on the left and Vanson Cycle Champ on the right
They are both pretty thin and soft but still stand up:
More or less, you also need to include chest ease, with your 42" chest a 21" pit to pit would b eskin tight.
Standard is between 2" and 4" of chest ease added, meaning with a 42" chest you should look for jackets with a 22" to 24" pit to pit depending on patterns and your personal preference.
So you had ordered "Heaviest HH", you received 4.5oz HH which has always been what Stu described as his heaviest hide, but you still find a way to complain about it three years on...
It's like you are continuously looking for any reason to crap on LW without real justification...
I would say pick whatever you like, our opinion is worthless we are never going to wear that jacket, you are. Just keep in mind that the jacket you end up receving might be made from a hide that looks nothing like the sample you handled...
There is a lot of variation between batches, and IMO...
I don't find them useful and i think they look bad.
Having the second zipper pull dangling just below my belt buckle always annoys me.
If a jacket is too long to start with (like the Vanson Commando) they kinda help prevent the dreaded front collar choke when you sit down, but personally i would...
I'm no expert but i don't think this jacket can be repaired. I think it can be rebuilt, but not repaired...
You would have to completely disassemble it, remove all thread and then restitch it all together in the same holes.
It would be more work than making a new jacket!
Unless this jacket has...
I wouldn't ride in these, but they look like serious work gloves!
Got me a pair of Elk ropers and a pair of chore gloves, they look like they are going to be much better quality than anything i have available here. Thanks.
