While at Disneyland a couple of weekends ago wearing my Camptown Fieldmaster I got at least one "Dr. Jones" comment from one of the cast members, but it was said in the vein of a compliment with a tip of his cap and "Nice hat," following. I had several folks there (cast members & public alike)...
Does anybody here know of a source for good quality ribbon material in a variety of widths? I'm going to convert a modern campaign hat into something more early 1900's miner or ex-cavalry look. Thanks for any help.
Cheers!

According to Aeris_Canon over at COW the Christy's Adventurer has "that thing" that makes it an excellent hat for the Raiders look and Kilties images show that. Good job!
Cheers!

I'm going to try to do something similar to that with an existing campaign hat that I have. the brim may be a little too thick to curl the brim like that but maybe I can get it soft enough to do something with. I just need a decent ribbon material to locate for the ribbon & bow.
Cheers!

Yep! Drunken de-evolved monkeys, everyone of them.:kick:
I swear society as a whole is de-evolving as fast as the polar ice caps are melting. A couple of more generations they'll all be back in the trees again. Then those of us who continule to evolve will still be wearing our hats to keep...

Thanks Jack! They are a joy to wear. The one I'm hoping will take off if there is enough interest it the "Noir" model of the Metropolitan. Basically a black fedora with the Metropolitan dimensions. I'd jump on one of those since I know Camptown's quality & it would be great to add a black number...
If you have a block of wood or a hat block to help support that portion of the crown I'd take a clothing steam iron to it. Just be sure to use a clean cloth like a t-shirt to protect the felt from the iron so as not to burn it and be sure to use the steam setting and iron it out. If it works for...
Hats all around!
I fully agree. I wear a hat out of a matter of practice. It looks good and helps protect the face scalp & neck. I rarely ever go outside without a hat on. As for eye protection since I was 14 I have to wear sunglasses outside because my eyes absorb too much light. Long story...
The Fall of the Roman Empire, with Alec Guiness, Christopher Plumer & Sophia Loren, on AMC tonight. Visually stunning vistas & sets to catch the eye for sure.

Recently watched this one on TCM. I rather enjoyed it, and yes the costuming was great. And Seth Green was so little.

They filled this with a great cast as well of some top notch actors & actresses. It's one I'll have to watch again to get the full scope of it. I usually like what Kenneth Branagh is in.
Cheers!
