Love those hats. But carouselvic is right:

It's the Eulan Bayer tag on the sweat that gives it away.
The important thing to remember is that Borsalinos remained
top quality till around 1980.
Uh, those two homburgs do not look identical.
Meaning no offense to the owner of the gray hat,
but your camel homburg is by far superior felt,
crown height, block, brim curl, etc. Without seeing
the interior, I'm betting it's older.
I think those old oilskin-type liners are cool. And literally
so, compared to the later plastic ones. I say keep it.
That is an old looking tag, but I'd hate to guess on the age.
Nice hat. I have two Knox 20s and I like 'em.
It may say more about the speaker than it does about hats
or men in general. Doesn't resonate with me at all.
Otherwise, a decent article, I'd say.
Hats: another reason to hate cars and love public transit.
Another Brown Royal Deluxe
The felt on this hat is everything I'd want from a dress felt.
Crisp, but not stiff, thin and dense. Nice rich brown.
Somehow I still haven't warmed to this hat. I think the
problem is the way the crown is formed. I should reform
it to make it appear a bit...
You have to click on the little box with the mountain-like
triangles and the yellow background with the pop-up text
"Insert Image" and then put your image URL in there. That

Not sure why the image is so small. That's a Fotki thing.
The "hippies killed the hat" myth is almost as persistent
as the "JFK killed the hat when he didn't wear one to his
inauguration" myth. From my subjective memory, I'd say
hippies wore more hats than punks (unless you count those
ska boys)...
Man, what a haul. It's rare enough to see one hat of
that vintage, let alone three, each with its own unique
felt, unlike any I've seen before.
Love to see the Mallory liner logo, if you get the chance. :eusa_clap
One of the best things about selling a hat is seeing it
end up in a better home than I can give it. That hat is
SO much better on you than it was on me. Glad to see
where it landed.
I have owned three Portis hats. One I gave to charity
(not my style- Cigarband got the pin from that...
I think this thread should distinguish between personal confession
and criticism of others. In the area of personal confession, it is
easier to know what to confess if we have a predefined set of sins.
Having read Matt's and some of the other confessions here, I have
a whole new appreciation...
Okay, next chance I get I'll dust off one of the Gross of Denver
western style jackets I have and take you guys a photo to laugh at.
I don't think I can pull off dressing like Tom Mix or Hopalong Cassidy
or Bill Pickett.
