Here is my "Auctioneer" inside and out. Apparently commisioned for the National Auctioneers Association........I have two of these. Both came with a "Rancher/Cattleman" crease and the awesome red liners...... I made this one over......:rolleyes:;) gives it a sort of campaign hat look.
Here is my Brent.....inside and out. Came to me open crown ......l chose to do a rough telescope.....makes it more casual and I think goes with the nice medium grey color. 4" crown as creased (5 1/2 open) and 2 1/2 inch brim.
I would say a Wormser grade.....and as I think about it, you are probably right as to not bothering to list this quality graded hat of which I do not know the specific model.......I do believe both the "Auctioneer"s as well as the Brent DO need to be added.
My recently added "Royal Luxury" Wormser shown here: https://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/the-other-open-roads.36972/page-36 could also be added, as it is different from the 3X or the Texan.
Second hat in my post here: https://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/the-other-open-roads.36972/page-31#post-2438266
I know I posted it here and probably in the new hat thread but cannot find it just now...will re-post here just by itself later......AND
the first hat shown is an "Auctioneer"...
I was asked what foxing is.....I thought I would repost for other as well.....
Term is most often used by dealers of books and ephemera as well as vintage clothing items.....
Foxing is yellow/brown spotting that occurs as a result of a reaction of chemical residue in cloth (chemicals used to...
It really is. The ribbon looks a lot redder in the pictures, in real life it makes its mark a little more subtly.....much better than the matching varity.....
Here is a 50's Royal DeLuxe Stetson fedora 5 1/4 Open Crown with a 2 1/2 overwelt brim. Has foxing (only, NO stains) on the liner. Otherwise PERFECT inside and out.
Size 7 1/4 as marked. Wonderful TRUE blue/black box pleat ribbon with wind cord!
Has onionskin behind the almost 2" sweat...
I never got around to posting this 40's BIG Stetson......big size (7 3/4!) big proportions (2 1/2 brim, 6 inch open crown, 5" as creased, IN FRONT!!!!!!!)
I would say it fits just a litte under 7 3/4...sweat is taped joint but has no Stetson markings....perhaps an old, quite old...
