It is beautiful here, but it was prettier about a month ago lol '55 Fairlaines are beautiful. They don't build cars like that anymore. I'm a luxury car man, through and through, but even I know that the cottontops are the typical buying demographic. It's a 1984 Royale. No worries...

What's something modern you won't miss when it becomes obsolete?

I would have felt less crazy, had I gotten a buck. I save all my money, because I don't have the kinda cash coming in a rich Californian such as yourself does.

Not for me, either. I don't even like OBDII.

I would have to disagree. There's still a decent luxury market, especially for vintage lux cars, those are the ones that were truly luxurious, not just rebadged base-models.

Out of those. Going to look at a Delta 88 Coupe this weekend, if it's not gone by then.

The End of an Era - After Almost a Century

I don't think that's right. Frankly, modern society won't even understand the goods and bads of this 'modern advancement' as you call it. People are too dim-witted and hear buzz words like fiber-optic and get excited over things they don't even understand. Just because a big corporation tells...

It wasn't. That's mighty kind of you. I never remember ours going down in the past 23 years. What about those of us who want our current set-up? TS to us?

I have a 2001 Silverado 2500 HD, standard cab long bed, with the 496 and Allison Automatic. Same boat, I can pull a house across town, but I get 8 city, 12 highway.

It still means a lot to me, not only in reality, but in the sake of tradition. We've had three foreign cars now in the course of my lifetime. A Renault, which was the biggest piece of garbage I've ever seen in my life. A 1986 Toyota SR5 pickup, great mechanically, but rusted if you looked at it...

At least the profits go to an American company. My Cadillac was built in Texas, and I believe my Silverado was built in Michigan. I know my Caprice, '51 Ford F-6, and '47 Olds 78 are American-made, too. This right here:

Nobody makes anything good anymore. I got my first one at 16, when I started driving. My folks paid for the phone, because they insisted I had it, but I had to pay for the minutes. At 18, I got a contract with US Cellular and I was much happier than with that Tracfone.
