Just asking as I have recently observed the price of new denim jackets getting into, well, very hefty pricing if I say so myself. I recall not long ago spending around $35 for a Wrangler denim jacket new. Seems at resale used name-brand jackets are selling for more than leathers (both...
I'll simplify your choices. For Aero, you will have to buy used. They no longer offer leather jeans. However they do offer a range of denim (Lee & Levi's) jeans. I'll queue up @Monitor here as he has the most experience with leather pants in this lounge.
^^ Agreed - however the denim jacket and hat he is wearing in the first couple of photos is indeed unique. The stitching and way it spouts out an angles over the shoulders is certainly not typical. I kind of dig that jacket, at least.
Then I went to Clutch Cafe to look up this brand's...
This all looks awesome Dude! Really love that jacket with those olive pants!
So question - what boots do you have on there? Have you done a review of those? Thanks
Nice write up here. You do those all very well. I agree with your sediments, I owned one Cal, probably should not have let it go. Exceptionally well crafted jacket - built like a really good pair of boots in fact.
To your collection, a few things to consider. Provided you are comfortable...
As a kid I had a few of these. Literally "lost" one on purpose as it was so dreadfully uncomfortable to wear, even in cooler temps. The second one, I believe, may have ended up in our burn barrel one day when I was asked to build a fire. I recall it worked well as a fire starter. :)
It's totally your choice, of course and I can see very positive elements working here. For me, the "sunburst" style back with a D-pocket crosszip front with two-tone leather is a little too much at once. However the results could be really striking if done well!
I like the "inspriation"...
Just my $.02 but I would go lighter for the lining. Wool tartan, or cotton drill or sateen. It's a farily close fitting jacket. +100 for the CX Steerhide! Excellent choice!
Greetings Dmartin - welcome to FL! You are asking some really good questions here.
In fact I used to have both, I actually returned the Mr. Lou's which I only tried on a few times on carpet. For me, I found the actually walking action of the Mr Lou's to be challenging, it kind of made me feel...
^^ Sadly this has been my experance as well. I have similar (and deeper, wider) cracks on a pair of Whites Packer Boots which appearently, were rebuilt not all that long ago. It's in the base section of the "uppers" so was not replaced in the rebuild. I am keeping them going for now, but...
^^ Nah I would not say rediculious, just typical for FL - Outerwear. :)
Now if you decide to become a part-time employee with them, that may be another story...
Nice catch on that jacket, it looks awesome!
Trying to capture the "teacore" of this Vicenza Ridley. It's there but just starting to peak through. Though I would try the grey sky, muted sunshine today. It's there just hard to capture.
