Treeman - to a point. It's a differnt sort of fit. Had Carrie not reccommended the changes to the waist, it would not have zipped up. John, I would guess apx 9.0 - 9.5 lbs max. Typically boxes of jacket size & packing materils would be apx 0.5 - 1.0 lbs unless it's exceptionally well packed in a rather large box.- AeroFan_07
