What's the basic "weight" of the jacket and overall feel of this leather like? I would think this is closer to a Vicenza weight (so about 4.5-5 lbs for the complete jacket) verses CXL FQHH which runs around 6-8...
My vote would be a Langlitz Cresent with a shirt style collar that snaps down. I would also ask for a Western V yoke on the upper back to dress it up a little. Might be a neat option there.

I also have a Vicenza FQHH Aero Ridley, and frankly it's a bit more on the "thin" side to me for wearing a backpack with. I prefer to keep it for dresser occassions.
I would mention to avoid Alpaca wool lining as that can be fairly warm and a bit itchy in certain circumstances.
So my perspective here may be a bit different for your situation. I don't know where you are located and the associated climate, etc. However I am in the USA - Midwest. We see a lot of wind/rain and snow for 3-4 months, then moderate to rather warm/humid temps come summer.

That's a shame, but FQHH for Horween is pretty intimidating for many folks. They just don't know what to do with it. You had the right idea - excersize in it and break it in.
