Thanks Red. This one isn't labeled as a Pilgrim. Says only SEARS Roebuck and Co on the tip and sweat. And Cushion Comfort on the sweat. It does have a pretty cool ribbon.
Thanks,
Michael

I see I seem to have gotten some sort of grease stain on it. That'll teach me to wear a hat while cooking.

Thanks Red. It was a good day on the trail and relaxing under the porkie. And come to think of it, I had pork, maitake and potato casserole for dinner.
Thanks Steve. The porkpie was my only find from the Halloween section at Goodwill this year. On the hat front anyway. That is a super...
After a nice extended ride under the fur cap I decided to go with a Marathon porkpie.

Thanks Red. I might have to give some thought to country ensembles. I know I could put together an all Swedish one, and an Irish one, and a Swiss one, except for a hat. Might be fun.
Thanks,
Michael

If I remember correctly this dates to the late '40s.

And then in the early '50s the Quartermaster pulled them all back in and added the rear cargo pockets to the existing coats.

Thanks Doug. Sorry to hear about that hot and sunny weather you've been suffering through. Ha ha. That was a great cuenca you picked to ease the pain. I had a good bike ride in the peacoat, etc., though I did change to a vintage Dandy Alicante beret for the ride.
Hope the job interview...

Thanks Red. I thought they worked together pretty well.
Thanks Perry. Next time I'll have to try my alpine Borsalino velour. You have on a great Stetson this morning. And super color combo in that shirt too.
Thanks all,
Michael
Thanks D. The coat was a gift from Wyldkarma. Rather a different fabric than the standard Loden cloth. I think it will work well with black hats.
Thanks,
Michael

Great tie, Bob. I just found a Cavalier of Louisville last week. First time I remember hearing of them. Love those bright ducks on black background.
Are you sure that's not from the late 50s Eric. It's the spitting image of the people eating flower in the 1960 version of Little Shop of...
Cool looking jacket. That back yoke/raglan sleeve/half belt combo is very cool. Dupont Aridex seems to have seen a big advertising push in the very early 1950s. So I might be inclined to put it around that time period. Great coat in any case.

Thanks D-dog. I really should finish tacking that ribbon down, since I don't seem to be changing it to anything else.
Thanks Stefan. It's always a good day for a longhair, right? And yes, it is a very nice coat.

Man, I need one of those. Looks like it's bigger on the inside. Can they be had cheap on eBay UK? Wonder what the shipping would be? Ha ha.
It would go well with a horse. I, on the other hand, do not do well with a horse.
I might need two of those police boxes. A new coat, that was a...
Love that Caxton, Stefan.
Turned into a two hat and a cap day here. I had to try the longhair Charles Knox with a new Loden Coat that came today as a gift from Wyldkarma.
