Questions About the United States Navy Peacoat
A reefer is the unlucky sot that had to climb up in the rigging and reef the sails during bad blows. Hence the need for a short, stout coat.- Michael A

Nice leather cap, Sonero. I think in cap making they often sew a twill tape under the head band finish, whatever that is made out of. Twill tape has very little stretch in it, so it keeps the cap to the stated size. Happy Birthday. Have a great day. Michael -
