Mike, you are right. It's brim is right at 3", so it is larger than most ORs I've read about. It's a bit of a hybrid. It may end up being one of my favorite hats. I couldn't believe I was the only bidder but the photos and description were not of great quality.
Thanks! I love it too. I may try having a hatter stretch it but I'll do that as a last resort if there are no takers out there. It being a prototype, it is one of a kind, which IMO only adds to its appeal.

Awesome hats so far today! I got the vintage OR memo as well so I am wearing my gray 1950s Royal DeLuxe Open Road. The dents are a bit off but I haven't had time to get them back in line.
Well this hat might be a bit too tight for you. It is a 7 1/4 and fits dead on to my crooked standard oval 7 1/4. I just tried it on. It feels nice. Needs a little steam to tweak the crown a bit but I like it. I've never had my hands on a Mallory but I like it.
