I'm still relatively new to sewing, but that's good that more are getting into it and enthused by it, right?? But even though I'm so new, I'm sitting here reading all your comments and nodding my head going "Uh huh!"
1. It's AWESOME knowing I can make a dress BETTER than SS and CHEAPER...
Ok, I know what I'm going to do when I get home lol
As for my maintenance level -- it's very very low. Dressing vintage is a second nature to me so it's just a matter of picking out what I want to wear. Makeup takes me 5 minutes (concealer under the eyes, black shadow lining the eyes...
Inky and Lauren!!!! Gah!! In my sewing queue I've got a sailor dress drom 1972 that I'm going to alter to look more 30s and I've also got Hollywood 9919, which is "pyjama trousers" as advertised by Priscilla Lane.
Yours both look great and I want to now sew three things at once

I'd really love to see everyone's variations of the one-hour dress! I just treated myself to a reproduction of the 1925 pamphlet and plan on making it as soon as I get it!
I'm sure many of you know about Bramcost Publications, but for those who don't they reproduce...

I have an adjustable one that was on clearance at Jo-Ann's. I don't really use it to make alterations as the hip and bust adjustments do not produce my waist size. I use it to figure out how to put things together and it's good for the hem, too!! Also, she always looks better in the finished...
