    Vintage Lingerie opinions needed

Question 1 Where/who do you usually buy special pieces/luxury lingerie from? Why? I don't have any. Question 2 If you had the choice between an averagely priced mass manufactured piece or a bespoke/made to measure piece at a slightly higher price which would be your preference? Why? I...

    1930s fabric combos

I'm always mixings solids and prints when making 30s dresses. That's what MAKES it look 30s, to me. Watch any movie from the era and you'll see some amazing combos -- many of which I try to reproduce to my best!

    Vintage Magazines?

I will never tire of the feminine hygeine ads. NEVER. And the BO ads. "ANOTHER DATE LOST to b.o.!"

    Vintage Magazines?

I have over 200 movie magazines from 1912 to 1962 (heavy concentration from the late 20s to the early 40s!) I also collect "girlie" magazines from this era. I'm pretty obsessed with old magazines. I recently scanned and catalogued every single cover on my Facebook.

Thanks, gals. I'll see what I can do with them. I think they might be a size too big for me anyway. In the meantime, the husband was away all weekend so I made these: I made it in pink earlier in this thread. I also bought a pattern-making book originally published in 1937. I...

Zendy -- thanks! I made them from a linen/poly blend. Hence trying to make them "professional." kamikat -- I can give it a try, but the crotch hangs down way too low (like pyjamas.) I would feel like I was wearing MC Hammer pants to work lol

Made these this morning: lol lol lol I just never look good in 30s/40s trousers so I won't be making any more. These remind me of a pair of Skidz I used to have! Remember those? From this: I really wanted to make these trousers into something I can wear to work, but they are...

How to live a vintage lifestyle in a modern world?

I like this. I call this "vintage effort." I like to MANUALLY do my hair in pincurls every night instead of attacking it with a curling iron in the morning. Pincurls come out much nicer and hold longer. I like making my own dresses. I like the "vintage effort" it takes for me to have to...

Everyday Women of the Golden Era

From Square America I love her dress and I love Boston Dental's art deco windows. I know she was posted earlier in the thread, but does she have no top on under those overalls?? They look like the EvaDress ones we're all making! lol
