Thanks Stefan. The jacket is actually a long so maybe you could work up from there to the hat?
Thanks D. Was fun seeing that many birds in one place.
Michael
A very breezy morning. Marathon for playing in the yard.

Have a good Monday

Thanks Jeff. I once dated a woman who claimed that Don Henley showed up in her kitchen one morning all excited and said "I'm going to start a band." I actually worked up a significant sweat under the cap. Who knew that pedaling through 3 or 4" of slushy snow was so much work.
Thanks Rodolfo...
Thanks Jack. I wish I had taken my camera yesterday when there were almost constantly 2 or 3 birds in flight as well as many more camped in the trees. It was fun seeing them in any case.
Michael
I got out for my first bike ride of the year yesterday and didn't take a camera along. And wouldn't you know, it turns out there was a eagle convention going on along the river. Must have seen well upwards of 50 of them, including 19 sitting in one tree. Took the camera with today and of...

Got out for a nice bike ride yesterday. May have to try for another one...
Sadly at this point in time it probably doesn't take much quality in a cloth get a lifetime guarantee for me. But I do love my Harris Tweed.
Both nice, Stefan, but I love that Cav.
Thanks,
Michael
At 33 degrees it's about 55 degrees warmer than it was on Thurs morning. Not counting windchill. Stetson 3X will wander around with me today.

Might try to dig my bike out of the snowbank.

Thanks Stefan. As it happens, I just acquired the jacket yesterday at my favorite thrift's half price sale. British tailored Harris Tweed.
A Super Panizza indeed. Sounds like it should be a racing bike or something.
Thanks D. I don't get this out often enough. It is a lovely hat.
Thanks...
Itchy?? No.
I got the driveway shoveled and started my car for the first time in a few weeks. The car wasn't happy. Then I gave the Pheasant a bit of a steam. Now I'm ready to venture off the place for a little trip downtown.

It was warm enough for the 10 minutes I was outside. Not for any longer than that. I always have on a wool base layer in the winter.
This morning I'm trying out this Golden Pheasant velour made by Biltmore

Thanks Bob. I thought the mittens might be the weak link the day before, but they worked well. They are wool lined with Thinsulate and built as a half finger glove with a fold back mitten component. Handy for when I want to pull things out of my pocket or wallet without totally de-gloving...
It was warm. When I was a kid I had a pair of USAF flight pants that would have been a closer match to the jacket, but this pairing is quite the opposite of a match. The jacket is a N-3B USAF jacket from the 80's and the pants are German Kriegsmarine leather engine room or foul weather pants...
-3 is cold enough for most purposes.
I'll agree with your Swedish patient. I did about 30 minutes of walking outside today and it was perfectly pleasant. 30 years ago I would have spent the day cross country skiing, but I'm not up to that anymore. Ha ha.
I thought it could be the very coat...
Where's the fun in that, Red? I went walkabout instead. Very nice, except I overheated a bit. Today the temperature is lower. I think it was -24 when I got up. I'm very disappointed with the wind chill though, it was a paltry -38. i think I'll walk over and catch the next bus anyway.

I'm sure it could take plenty of snow, in fact it has in the past. But even though it is a tight fitting hat it has trouble with 25 mph winds.
Wow, both beauties. Love that Lupo velour.
Great looking hat, Alan. Gotta love some fur in this weather.
I did a bit of walking and bus riding today...
Thanks Karl. I see the blue Borsalino is still looking top notch. I could go for some daffodils today. I went out to survey the yard this morning and I see that some deer were knocking on my front door last night. Guess they would have eaten the daffodils had they been there.
Windchill only...
Out doing a little more snow shoveling this morning in what will be my last hat with a brim for the next few days.

It was close to 30 degrees and calm when I started...
Thanks Karl. Good to see you in the neighborhood again. And nice that you are taking a miss on winter.
The Panizza is still looking sweet. I can see why it's a favorite.
Michael
Close to anything. May have to up my game a bit more for this coming Wednesday when the prediction is windchill temps of near -50 F. Not too bad today, though, with about 6 degrees and sun now. I think I'll forgo the morning coffee at the table in the yard, in any case.
