Absolutely gorgeous hat, Alan. Just as a matter of interest, what was the Pantone color of the year for 1939? I have an overcoat with a 1939 union label that seems to be about that color. I thought it probably dated to some time in the 40s, but I may rethink that.
Thanks,
Michael
Frost on the punkin, but this Dobbs Sixteen Fifty is keeping it off my head

Thanks Doug. Loved your Champ today and will be looking forward to seeing the Donegal. It was almost too warm for mine here today. We got up to the mid 60s. This a a mid 50s weight suit. Ha ha. I'm sure I'll be wearing it a lot during the next 4 months or so.
Thanks,
Michael
Thanks Red.
Thanks Jim. Two bad it didn't come with as a two tone model. Great hat you are wearing today.
Thanks Stefan. I sent instructions to my sister in re blue hat, so you should be rooting for a mushroom mishap. Ha ha.
Thanks D. I've come around to thinking the suit is real handwoven...
Is that modern or vintage, Richard? I like that stitching on the brim.
I don't know, Bill. I thought yours was looking pretty sweet the other day when you had it on. The brim on mine is 2 3/4".
And what a fine looking French hat it is. Love that sheen on the ribbon.
Michael
Quite a bit calmer this morning. I'm off to an eye doc appt in a few minutes under this Marathon.

Ah, I didn't know they had a mail order business.
Thanks Red. The outfit served me well on a windy coffee resupply mission. Ha ha. Loved your church 'burg. That has to be one of the finest colors I've ever seen in a hat.
Thanks,
Michael
That looks like a fun tour. The Viking replica ship Hjemkomst was built in my hometown in Mn. https://www.hcscconline.org/the-hjemkomst.html It was sailed from Duluth to Norway in the early 80s.

Looking good D. Reminds me that I need to pull out my Golden Pheasant soon. Funny thing, my pheasant and both of my milan homburgs were sold by Stark and Legum. They must have had a heck of a 'burg salesman there.
Michael
The lagomarsino does look nice, and the clothes are perfect complements according to my color wheel, so you did a pretty good job of getting yourself dressed as far as I can see. Ha ha.
Michael
Thanks Jeff. Sometimes the hat sets the mood, sometimes the clothes demand the hat.
I think the snobbery doesn't kick in until you start roasting your own beans. Ha ha. i have a Cuisinart coffeemaker that grinds the beans. I can recommend it, though it has a few issues. I have the...
Thanks Brent. I think this one might have been my first western purchase. It was always a bit too tight and very stubborn about being enlarged. But now my head seems to be getting smaller and it fits great.

They started manufacturing sheepskin garments in the late 70s and stopped in the early 90s. At their peak in the mid 80s they were making around 60 garments a day.

Great looking newsboy, D. And nice Borsa with the wedding outfit too.
Thanks D. I'm liking this cool weather.
Yes, quite early. The store that sold it went out of business around 1918. And I think it came under the name in the late 1880s. So it's from sometime in between those two dates...
