Greetings All:
Today....I’m still playing with the Twins.
I gave this, the more recent, a brush and alittle bend here and there to see how it acted. I note there are subtle differences in the two and need to keep playing.
I think a comparison is in order.
Churchill 50 Spindletop.
Be well. Bowen

I can feel that felt through my monitor. The embodiment of claylike. Nice!

Is that modern or vintage, Richard? I like that stitching on the brim.

I don't know, Bill. I thought yours was looking pretty sweet the other day when you had it on. The brim on mine is 2 3/4".

And what a fine looking French hat it is. Love that sheen on the ribbon.

Michael

Thanks Mike, this is a modern Whippet. I’m still searching for a vintage

Great look as always Michael! Love the color on the Marathon so much.
Thanks Red.

Nice color on that Marathon, Michael.

Sent directly from my mind to yours.
Thanks Jim. Two bad it didn't come with as a two tone model. Great hat you are wearing today.

Wonderful outfit again, Michael. That hat has been calling me ever since I first saw it. Careful with those mushrooms:D
Thanks Stefan. I sent instructions to my sister in re blue hat, so you should be rooting for a mushroom mishap. Ha ha.

Great Marathon. Looking good from head to toe. Nice heavy Donegal tweed.
Thanks D. I've come around to thinking the suit is real handwoven Donegal. I got a 'That is a really fantastic suit" comment from a student while I was walking across campus from the hospital. And an oh yeah, hubba hubba from an Asian woman who was taking photos of her friend. I think there may be some photos of me walking away. Ha ha. And a "that's a really nice hat" from a guy that has owned the best menswear store in town for the last many years. He's retiring at the end of the year and his brother is taking over. The store has been open for 103 years. Unusual number of comments.

Thanks Mike, this is a modern Whippet. I’m still searching for a vintage

It's a darn nice modern one. You've got many vintage hats that equal or best the Whippet already.

Thanks all,
Michael

Beautiful color on the lid, Michael, and a wonderful weave on the Donegal tweed. I have a Donegal here I really like as well. We have the weather for Donegal now, don't we?

This early morning a vintage Stetson Beachcomer was my hat of choice for a dog walk.

I like everything about this hat. I am ambivalent about wearing this as I do not want to wear it to an early demise, but it begs to be worn. I shall wear it.

Best, Eric -
I just love this hat, Eric. I think it's the only one I've ever seen. The highlight running along the bottom of the pug is classy.

Thanks Doug. Loved your Champ today and will be looking forward to seeing the Donegal. It was almost too warm for mine here today. We got up to the mid 60s. This a a mid 50s weight suit. Ha ha. I'm sure I'll be wearing it a lot during the next 4 months or so.

Thanks,
Michael

This afternoon I went for a hike wearing a VS mid-ribbon. This light weight silverbelly hat was just the trick.

Fall is another Spring as each leaf is like a flower in it's color.

Late Fall afternoon hike recharged me for the upcoming weeks.

Being “recharged” sounds like something I could use. Great hat as always, Eric.

This hat is inspiring Eric. The highlight at the bottom of the ribbon is understated, but the eye is drawn to it. I have been trying to decide on my next custom, and this style is high on my list of passions. I wonder how it would look in a Silver Belly?

This is the first Borsalino that I purchased and remains one of my favorites. Very light with wafer thin, beautifully finished felt.

The paper thin brim on this Borsalino is really something. I can see where it would be a dream to wear.

Doesn't look to rough to me, just beautiful!

Two hat day again. First one the Knox backbow.
View attachment 141401
Second one was the Mayser homburg again.
View attachment 141402
That back bow spiffed up quite nicely. What I like about this style is they are easy to date in the latter 1950s. This one is a prime example. That homburg is just a delicious color and shape.

Hey everyone!
This Tirard Elite "Edka" that Fruno made me buy.
Best peer pressure EVER!!!
Have a great day!

He has done that to me before, an all star enabler! I love the overall look of this French "Diplomatique". It is large and in charge!

Stetson conversion. I call this my “Joao stingy.” 5 1/2 front as creased! 3 1/2” brim.

A very attractive woman complimented this hat so of course it’s now a favorite. Do women know the power they have over us? Scary.

I can see why she swooned over it Brent. Very impressive overall!

Errands and then lunch with my daughter. We had a coupon, so there was a Big Mac Attack! She was wearing a Dorfman Pacific Captain's Cap and I had my first Champ, a fine hat indeed.

That organic crease is just incredible. Looks like a grab and perfect results. Wow Bowen.

Very recent sin!
wqr9qb.jpg

Borsalino Qualità Superiore size 7 or 61 cm. or 7 5/8. Fit with some little adjustment
11qtfmq.jpg

Color is "Pomice" (Pumice) Made during the sixties
347z6ll.jpg

Felt is thin and very malleable. Matching ribbon. The combination felt and ribbon are what I liked most of this Borsalino!
bhh85t.jpg

It is one of the sins committed in Merano, one of the many Borsalino seen and reviewed, but never noticed and taken into consideration

Thanks for the likes on the grey "Bugey" Flechet
Have a nice day

I really like the brim stitching detail on this one Daniele. Pure class.

Out early this morning for a dog walk in a vintage Stetson Royal De Luxe St. Regis.

The navy blue hued felt is difficult to capture in the sparse morning light.
Best, Eric -
it is interesting how this blue hat looked dark gray on Facebook a while ago. Now that I see the blue, I love it even more!!

Frost on the punkin, but this Dobbs Sixteen Fifty is keeping it off my head

Knox today for errands.
