AGREED! Haven't sewn in a month or so. Haven't visited this thread in about that long, but in catching up on it I want to break out the needles again!!!
Thanks! Not sure I like it, though. I'm a natural redhead (though not this red!) and I think I just want that colour back for now. lol That is, since I can't afford to be blonde. :mad:
DPD = Aline McMahon RULES!!!
My grandma told me she had three dresses total in the 40s -- 2 made from feedsacks and one "Sunday" dress. She also told me she had two pairs of shoes -- 1 for everyday and 1 for "Sunday." When her everyday shoes wore out, her "Sunday" shoes became her everyday shoes and then she'd buy a nice...
Of course, I didn't mean anything naughty by that :D I just meant she looks so bored and probably REALLY wants to sit there like Al Bundy, but can't. lol
These are my two most favourite art deco/moderne items. They are so simple, yet speak VOLUMES about the time they were made:

I've recently come across a "time traveler" in the Compton, CA 1930 yearbook:

I wouldn't spend $150 on something I'm going to tear apart. As for copying a gamrnet -- why not? If it's for your own personal use I don't see what the problem is. If you like the shape, hate the colour/design/fabric, and it's in your price range I would do it. Not sure I'd re-sell, though...
THE BIGGER THE BETTER!!!!
I'm doing my family tree and it's been confirmed what I alread knew -- I come from a long line a factory workers, both male and female. My great grandparents came over from Wurttenberg, Germany in the 1880s and ended up being "Glass Blowers" over here. My...
You can push your bangs to the side and fingerwave them just fine. They should blend in with the rest of your hair. This is what I'm currently doing, but my bangs have grown out quite a bit.
You can curl your bangs under with an iron and spread them out into a "U" shape giving the illusion...
