Too many photos of tattered butternut uniforms to be a myth, diaries too. I didn't say anything about "ruining" a uniform or equipment, just "aging". Doofus is a good word....
I have had the Traveller for a week or so now, trimmed the brim down to 2 5/8". I really LIKE the Bran color, reminds me of the Natural color of my Stetson Road Master.
The felt has a different hand for sure & the crown is a tad low but serviceable. I'll be putting it thru a Christy's Tube...
Doing Civil War reenactment, you had to distress articles to give an accurate depiction of late war soldiers. There is no way that doing this maybe 1 weekend a month would yield the war-torn look of what those men endured. You had to look like fresh troops for famous battles at the beginning of...
Silverbelly is a versatile color & goes with most anything, or at least I wear it with most anything.
Blue blazer, khaki pants, blue button down....Jeans, plaid shirt, leather jacket....just wouldn't go with a tan coat, look to much like a sheriff's deputy unless that is a look you're going...
Even more so for Akubra. The Heritage is significantly different from the Imperial grade. I know Resistol & Stetson have different dye recipes for their Silverbellies, coming from 2 different original sources. Guess the different grades of fur blend at Akubra must take up the dye differently???

Was this one fully in tact, guts & all? Was the strap & snap all in good shape?
Needs to be smaller since your hat is finished with a sweatband.
They help getting back to open crown state but you can do the inner teardrop part by hand or with a large spoon or ladle.
Walmart craft dept or Hobby Lobby or Michael's has squares of felt for about 50 cents. Get one & cut it into strips to tuck behind the sweat.
I always get the white so there is no chance of dye bleeding if I sweat or caught in the rain.
If Art made it for me, I'd have him resize me & adjust...
Saw this one in the Orvis Men's Clothing catalog in my "library".
Seems to be made in Adamstown, PA by Bollman Hat Company, same maker as Bailey & Eddy Bros.
Anybody in the Lounge ever handled or worn one?
Looks a lot like the 3 Forks & Moose River...
Thanks for clarifying Jeff. I purposely stated that it was your offer, not a store one, just should have used "offered" instead of making it sound like a standing one. MANY thanks for what you do for us addicts....
