Hello all,
I have a very gently worn Eastman that is just a bit too snug in the shoulders and across the back for me, so I offer it for your consideration. While I hate to see it go, it just doesn't fit right anymore. I'm willing to take a comparable trade in a 46 or just sell it outright...
Thanks, Gents!
I love it as well, and if I had wound up getting another Harley I would keep it. Hopefully I can find it a good home with a loving family. haha
Hello all,
I bought this over the winter for motorcycle riding, but then I opted to not get another motorcycle, so I no longer have a use for the jacket. This is an American made, heavy leather jacket and has a great quilted lining. This is the same type of jacket worn by Brando, Joan Jett...
Rknight,
I like the one in the photo, that's a nice looking jacket. Mine is a Rough Wear 1401-p. I hadn't thought about it that way, but you're right. The collar stand does make it more shirt-like.
Thanks, Rknight! I notice that the collar stand takes some getting used to, and I'm unsure as to whether or not I'm a fan of it. I'm not sure about the Italian campaign, but it makes sense. I've heard that before, but it merits some looking into.
Fastuni,
That's great information, thank you! I need to do some more reading, but I haven't had the time this week to research it. The reason I ask is that there was, apparently, some talk in my father's side of the family about going back to Germany during the late 30's and I got to wondering...
The jacket arrived today, and I absolutely love it. Though the collar stand takes some getting used to, since it's my first experience with one. For some reason, and maybe it's the cut of the jacket, it makes me look a bit oddly shaped when it's zipped. My stomach is pretty flat, but it looks...
I spent the weekend watching WW2 films with an acquaintance. While watching Band of Brothers, we saw the scene with the American who was serving with the Wermacht as a Volksdeutsche . This got me to wondering, and perhaps some of you fine folks will know more about this than I do--because I...
I've never been on VJL before. I didn't feel like creating a new email account on one of their accepted servers. Though I don't think for a moment that making patches is even anywhere close to actual military service. As a veteran, that's just laughable. Though I will say in all fairness that he...
Lisserbee,
I just found this thread and haven't had the chance to read through it all yet, but I wanted to say that I'm appalled at the way you were both treated. That's just un-American, in my opinion. My ex wife was Filipina, and she had the same reservations about these events for that...
I went to the company that supplied the last one I bought a few years ago (Split S), but they're out of stock. Can anyone recommend another company who might produce a good quality name-tag? I mean the leather ones.

Hoosier:
Thanks very much for taking the trouble to do that! Those jackets look great, honestly. The military used to have such great style, and not just the US Army, either. I don't see why we ever got away from that.
