For those who ride motorcycles (or are thinking about riding).

Do we really need more laws? I don't think so, sir. Perhaps we need more common sense, accountability for our actions and less mothering from the Government. More laws are rarely the answer, regardless of what the question is. As far as riding gear, I recommend Fox Creek Leather without...

Thanks very much for the replies, I appreciate them very much.

An A2, a motorcycle and lots of bugs.

Hello all, I've been wearing my Eastman as a riding jacket until I can pick up a proper "bike" jacket. After last week, though, it looks like I tore through a swarm of locusts and my jacket is...unsightly. What is the best way to clean goat-leather without damaging it, but still taking off...

    Biker Jacket question

Thanks very much for the explanation! Now it makes sense. I'm leaning towards a Schott.

    Biker Jacket question

I've noticed that they all seem to have the zipper at an angle. Can anyone tell me why that is? What does that position do that a standard vertical zipper does not? Respectfully, JB

    Who is today's Steve McQueen?

Daniel Craig is the same guy who hates guns because they're "silly" and wants James Bond to have a gay lover to be more...progressive. I have to vote against this. He's NO Steve McQueen.

    At the Airshow today...

That's him! He was such a nice man, and very happy to answer questions that I had about his experiences. It was nice watching the younger soldiers snap him salutes, too. I admit that I got a huge kick out of it.

    At the Airshow today...

I had to work the airshow today at JBER and met a splendid fellow who started flying in 1944 and has kept on doing so. Today he flew one of the aircraft that did a demonstration flight, and afterward spent some time talking with me. It's a true shame that there aren't more of these fellows left...

It is. It's the same size as my suit jacket.

    Leather Jackets & Fine Whisky

As much of a surprise as it was to me, the whiskey I enjoy most (and I'm fond of Lagavulin, Laphroaig and Caol Ila) is Suntory Yamazaki. Just a fantastic taste, but damned hard to find in Alaska.

    ELC...I get it, now.

Here's one from my wife's camera. By far the best jacket I've owned. http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/854/elc2copy.jpg/

    ELC...I get it, now.

I finally took possession of my first "High end" A2, an Eastman House in goat. I'm completely smitten with this jacket, and frankly, I don't want to take it off. My wife, who does not like the A2 design at all, even concedes that it's a smashing jacket. I have the serious feeling that, while...

A-2 leather patch and back artwork

That's just gorgeous! How did you do it, did you use a computer program or an airbrush? JB

Replacing the lining on an A2.

Edited - The situation has been addressed! I apologize to the Mods. I did not realize that it had been addressed prior to my response. JB

Replacing the lining on an A2.

Peacoat, I looked around the house and my wife has some leather patches that might work for this. Concealed carry certainly makes things more complicated, but I wouldn't trade it for anything. It wasn't a problem with my "really cold weather" jacket, since I tend to dress in layers, and I tend...

Replacing the lining on an A2.

This is a really good idea, sir. I'll look into that, for sure. To be honest, I didn't know they had such a pocket in the G1, but it certainly makes the jacket that much cooler, in my opinion. Thanks.

Replacing the lining on an A2.

Gentlemen (and Ladies), I have an A2 with the standard lining. I also carry a pistol daily and the metal has worn a hole in the lining of my jacket. I'm a bit on the fence between just tossing a patch on it and replacing it, but I was wondering who would actually do something like that? Where...

    Django Unchained

Worf, I will say that I still find it distasteful, but you make a damn good argument. Well played, sir. JB

    Django Unchained

I must say I agree with Uff. If it were reversed, and it was a white man saying this about killing black men, people would be burning down buildings. Though I like Tarantino's films, generally, I think this premise is kind of cheap. It's easy to have people feel ok about a former slave killing...
